Trump tweets further criticism of Sweden

Source: Associated Press

CATHERINE LUCEY, ASSOCIATED PRESS

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (AP) — President Donald Trump is tweeting further criticism of Sweden’s immigration policies.

The president tweeted Monday that: “The FAKE NEWS media is trying to say that large scale immigration in Sweden is working out just beautifully. NOT!”

People in Sweden have been scratching their heads since Trump suggested during a rally Friday that some sort of incident had occurred in their country. Trump tweeted Sunday he was referring to something he saw on television.

The president might be referring to a segment aired Friday night on the Fox News Channel show “Tucker Carlson Tonight” that reported Sweden had accepted more than 160,000 asylum-seekers last year but that only 500 of the migrants had found jobs in Sweden. The report went on to say that a surge in violence had followed.

Trump watched Fake News Fox. He then quoted something he saw on fake News Fox that was indeed fake. He got caught spewing Fake News. Then he doubles down that the fake news media isn't reporting what is going on in Sweden.

Wow. OK.

Sweden is a Trumpian dystopia, like Detroit or California. The right runs against, not for, certain social models. These have in common multi-culturalism, environment concerns, gender equality and strong safety nets. There can be nothing right with these places because, if there were, it would mean a flaw in Trump doctrine. Sweden is a liberal hell-hole. You want to see a model nation? Check out Putin's Russia. That's where they have it figured out correctly. Uh, yeah, right!

is a equivalent to us taking about a 1 million/yr.

Obama's top number was 100K/yr. This number has been reduced to 50K/yr under Trump, and no Syrians will be allowed in.

Wonder if they are in Putin's sights too? That would explain the massive effort to denigrate them, he's just doing as Pootie says.

Most trolls put a little more effort and thought into whatever they're saying than just "NOT!" after the reality someone else (the Swedish embassy, in this case) has stated. I'm moderating on another board, and we'd delete that as a one-liner that adds nothing to the discussion. And as a repeat offender, we'd be thinking about a temporary ban for a day, in the hope they'd grow up.

His grandfather, who ran brothels, claimed he was Swedish to avoid anti-German sentiments. See, back then, people were afraid of foreigners from Germany.

Never forget that Russia has a millennia old antipathy to the swedes, dating back to when they tried to kill a king, later saint, Alexander Nevsky. The fact they resisted the USSR only makes things worse, and the fact the many places like Estonia feel more Scandinavian than Russian adds more fuel.
