School district agrees to remove Ten Commandments monument
Mark Scolforo, Associated Press Updated 4:18 pm, Tuesday, February 21, 2017

HARRISBURG, Pa. (AP) — A Pennsylvania school district has agreed to remove a granite Ten Commandments monument from outside a high school and pay $164,000 in legal fees to settle a federal lawsuit.

The Freedom From Religion Foundation said it received a signed settlement Tuesday from the New Kensington-Arnold School District saying it will relocate the 6-foot-high monolith from near the gym entrance at Valley High School within 30 days.

"We're very glad it's over with, but honestly, it shouldn't have been fought in the first place," said Annie Laurie Gaylor, co-president of the foundation.

The district's lawyer declined to comment, and the man who signed the release last week, Superintendent John Pallone, did not return messages. The school is in New Kensington, about 20 miles northeast of downtown Pittsburgh.

... to prominently and officially display the Ten Commandments? It's pretty much settled that when push comes to shove, those who advocate and defend the concept of the SOCAS will always win.

Yet, there's always some yahoo hotshot judge or school super who wants to give it another try. As if they've been living in a bubble and have no clue what's happened before ... or as if they believe that laws don't apply to them.

It might look nice at the DeVos' new Lake Michigan mansion.

My favorite is the Vicar of Dibley quote

'Can't' isn't in the Christian Vocabulary!
Owen Newitt: Yes it is! You can't commit Adultery, You can't steal...
Jim Trott: You can't even covet your neighbour's ass. Even if it is very alluring!
