A Top Republican Said Hed Vote Against the GOPs Obamacare Replacement Bill

Source: TIME

Rep. Mark Walker (R-N.C.) said he would not vote for an Obamacare replacement bill, according to a statement on Twitter.

“There are serious problems with what appears to be our current path to repeal and replace Obamacare. The draft legislation, which was leaked last week, risks continuing major Obamacare entitlement expansion and delays any reforms. It kicks the can down the road in the hopes that a future Congress will have the political will and fiscal discipline to reduce spending that this Congress apparently lacks,” he said.

Walker, chair of the conservative Republican Study Committee (RSC) continued: “The bill contains what increasingly appears to be a new heath insurance entitlement with a Republican stamp on it. In that form and absent of substantial changes, I cannot vote for the bill, and, in good conscience, cannot recommend RSC Members to vote for it either.”

His comments come after after a leaked draft of a Republican Obamacare replacement plan circulated last week. The draft would dismantle the Obamacare subsidies, and abandon its Medicaid expansion, according to Politico.

These ass hats using "Entitlement" every chance they get. The Rep. in the district I live in here in Illinois, Mike Bost, loves using this term. In fact him, or his office, has used it in every single contact I've had with him either by email or phone.

Especially when destructionists apply it to Medicare and Social Security. After paying in for over 50 years and still paying, damned right I'm entitled!

People pay into things like SS, Medicare, Unemployment. So they have earned said entitlement. But I guess Republican logic forbids them from seeing such facts and reality.

They don't seem to understand that this endless waffling and uncertainty
is undermining any confidence even the Tea Potty crowd had in them

What does it take to tweak ... raise deductibles for middle class taxpayers
to reduce premium increases. Limit benefits, shift people to outpatient
non-ER centers for minor problems and force the hospitals to refer there

No just sit in their own visceral anger and steam and foam at the mouth at
that Kenyan Witch Doctor that put it all in place

These people have an inner, blind anger problem in their core. What is it
too much repression? Too much religion? Rich person's high fat diet? Sickos!
