No, you're not crazy, part of the internet *is* broken
Source: CNET
While the internet is not a series of tubes, it can get bogged down sometimes.
Currently Amazon Web Services, which (at the most basic level) hosts many of your favorite sites (like us, right? right?!) is experiencing some issues at the moment. Which means much of the internet is experiencing everything from minor to major issues.
It's not even a little clear what's causing the problem, but the AWS page above has this message: "We're continuing to work to remediate the availability issues for Amazon S3 in US-EAST-1. AWS services and customer applications depending on S3 will continue to experience high error rates as we are actively working to remediate the errors in Amazon S3."

Update: https://status.aws.amazon.com/ as noted by Amazon issues are occurring with their service and is impacting a large part of the Internet that utilizes Amazon services. We are in contact with Amazon and will provide updates as they can provide them.
Our engineering team has identified an issue with a third party vendor that is impacting the performance of the User Portal. This may mean that the ability to join a Live Chat session, view backups, or access the User Portal may be intermittent. Our engineers are actively working with our vendor to resolve this issue as quickly as possible. Well provide further updates here as they come.
