Rubio is asked to leave Tampa office over disruption from weekly protests
Source: Tampa Bay Times
TAMPA Vocal crowds of demonstrators making weekly visits to the Tampa office of U.S. Sen. Marco Rubio have gotten the Miami Republican booted from the building.
The owner of Bridgeport Center, a gleaming, nine-story office center at 5201 Kennedy Blvd., has decided not to renew Rubio's lease. The reason: The rallies have become too disruptive to the other tenants and a costly expense for the company, said Jude Williams, president of America's Capital Partners.
"A professional office building is not a place for that," Williams said. "I understand their cause, but at the end of the day it was a security concern for us.
Rubio is now faced with the prospect of going without a brick-and-mortar office until a new location can be found. Rubio's annual lease expired in December and he has been renting on a month-to-month basis since then working to negotiate a new agreement, according to his office. The staff needs to leave Suite 530 by Friday and does not have a new location lined up. Negotiations with another building recently fell through.

(17,001 posts)He brought this on himself. Shouldn't have said his constituents were rude and stupid and then turn around and refuse to hold town halls. What did he think they were going to do. Just sad I couldn't have been a part of it.

(6,454 posts)Tampa is too far for me to drive and Tallahassee even further. I think he still has an office in Jacksonville. Why does he have so many places, are we the tax payers paying for this?

Which makes the irony delicious.
He has the office so his constituents can reach him, but he avoids them like the plague.
This causes them to protest.
And the protests lead to him losing his office.

Don't like it? Do something about the object of the protest and the protest stops.
I have very little sympathy toward those "inconvenienced" by protesters. THAT'S. THE. POINT.

Hey Rubio did you by chance see what Toomey your side kick is doing, he also has a problem with "voters".
You can run but you can't hide, since your ilk think party is more important than country, no matter where you go, "We the people" are going to be at your door step and his and anyone else that thinks that party is more important than country and it's people.
