Trump, aboard Navy carrier, vows to boost defense spending

Source: MSN/Associated Press

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. — President Donald Trump pledged to boost defense spending as he basked in the nation's military might aboard a next-generation Naval aircraft carrier on Thursday.

Wearing an olive green military jacket and blue ball cap, Trump vowed to mount "one of the largest" defense spending increases in history.

"Hopefully it's power we don't have to use, but if we do, they're in big, big trouble," Trump said.

Trump spoke from the Gerald R. Ford, a $12.9 billion warship that is expected to be commissioned this year after cost overruns and delays. He touted his spending plans, saying he would provide "the finest equipment in the world" and give the military the "tools you need to prevent war."

I thought we were winding down the wars, since Trump bragged that he was against invading Iraq from the start? Or, does he need to start a war quickly for Wag the Dog moment.

Won't the oil companies make a lot of money if superpowers
engage rogue states and countries?

Wonder who's behind all the oil deals ... pipelines around Afghanistan,
Black Sea ports, Ukraine, and oil drilling to be granted in the United
States with Trump's deregulation.

Someone's going to make a lot of money. Great deal if you can get in
on it.

the top 5 defense spending countries combined and instead of spending more and more and more they should focus on getting the military to spend its money better rather than chug it down like a pig at a trough.

as they cut programs that actually help people and provide regulations to ensure safety, clean water, financial responsibility, health care, etc.

Who are they planning to use these weapons on? We outspend Russia by 11 to 1 on defense, plus they are allies now after installing Trump as president. China? Iran? North Korea?

A lot of freepers and some idiots on the left actually claimed that agent orange was the anti-war candidate and that Hillary was going to get us all killed in WW3.
