Report: Trump furious that Sessions recused himself

Source: The Hill

President Trump is furious over Attorney General Jeff Sessions's decision to recuse himself from investigations into Russia, according to reports Saturday.

-snip-

Washington Post reporter Robert Costa tweeted Saturday morning that President Trump left the White House "in a fury" on Friday, "fuming about [Jeff] Sessions's recusal and telling aides that Sessions shouldn't have recused himself," also calling the reports of his meeting "bull."

ABC News's Evan McMurry shared a similar report, saying sources told him Trump went "ballistic," though McMurry did not say what the president appeared to be frustrated over.

-snip-

Hours before the Sessions press conference, Trump threw his full support behind his embattled attorney general, who was a loyal campaign surrogate, and insisted he should not recuse himself from the inquiry.

Beauregard admitted it at his presser (I posted the below yesterday - http://www.democraticunderground.com/?com=view_post&forum=1002&pid=8737457).

TRANSCRIPT -

<...>

QUESTION: The White House press secretary and the president himself both said today that they think you should not recuse yourself from these investigations. (inaudible)

SESSIONS: I did share with White House counsel, and my staff has, that I intend to recuse myself this afternoon. But I feel like — because they didn't — they don't know the rules, the ethics rules, most people don't and — but when you evaluate the rules, I feel like that I am — I should not be involved investigating a campaign I had a role in.

and they had agreed the best course was to recuse from campaign-related investigations.

Sessions probably has more self-control and mental stability than his pout-raged, easily offended, revenge-minded boss.
