U.S. Homeland Security Secretary John Kelly said on Monday he was considering a proposal to separate women and children who cross the U.S. border with Mexico illegally.
"Yes, I am considering -- in order to deter more movement along this terribly dangerous network -- I am considering exactly that," Kelly said in response to a question in a CNN interview concerning media reports about the possible change in U.S. policy.
"They will be well cared for as we deal with their parents," Kelly said.

A government top heavy with males should have no business making plans for children
This is why I want a felmale president who comprehends human rights.

(6,039 posts)to the historical preponderance of males in our public sphere, the paucity of women, our views on what constitutes malensss vs femaleness, and the life experiences of men vs women still being different in the aggregate.
If women in a country still do the major portion of child care, and are underrepresented in government, I think that government is less likely to address the need of children.
If the US had had a 50% representation in the presidency, the congress and statehouses, governorships, and other public offices over the last 200 years I think our country would be very different-even though individually there would always be the equivalent of Ayn Rands, Phyllis Shafleys, Blackburns.
The barbarism ratio definitely seems incredibly greater among Republican men than Democratic.

She will smugly nestle into her silk sheets and grin that she kept that "monster" Hillary out of the white house. No thoughts for the pain and fear that her actions caused for those not rich or white.

March 6, 2017 3:48 PM
WASHINGTON (AP) The Homeland Security Department is considering separating children from parents caught crossing the Mexican border illegally, Secretary John Kelly said Monday.
Kelly said such a move would be part of a broader effort to discourage families from making the dangerous trek across Mexico to the U.S. border.
He confirmed that hes considering the action during an interview with CNN Monday. The plan had previously been reported by several news outlets.
Tens of thousands of parents and children fleeing violence and poverty, mostly from Honduras, El Salvador and Guatemala, have been caught crossing the border illegally in recent years. Generally, the families are detained for a few days or weeks before being released into the United States to wait for an immigration judge to decide their fate.
