Meteorologists refute EPA head on climate change

Source: The Hill

The American Meteorological Society wrote a letter to Pruitt Monday saying he is wrong.

“In reality, the world’s seven billion people are causing climate to change and our emissions of carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases are the primary cause,” the group’s executive director, Keith Seitter, wrote in the letter.

“This is a conclusion based on the comprehensive assessment of scientific evidence. It is based on multiple independent lines of evidence that have been affirmed by thousands of independent scientists and numerous scientific institutions around the world,” Seitter said. “We are not familiar with any scientific institution with relevant subject matter expertise that has reached a different conclusion.”

He added that “mischaracterizing the science” is not a good place to start in constructive policy debates surrounding climate, and offered his organization’s assistance in helping Pruitt to understand the data.

Although I doubt that Pruitt will be willing to give one millisecond of thought to understanding the data. He's put his head in the sand and will undoubtedly refuse to listen to either facts or the scientific community.

He understands the money of those he works for (not the American public).

3. THEY DO NOT CARE!!!

They - meaning the deniers and their evil minion whores who get paid to lie - have known for DECADES that the science was solid and the conclusions valid. Anthropomorphic climate change is a real thing and has been known about for more than 4 DECADES!!!

Rex Tillerson had access to the science from his own Exxon studies that date back to the 1960's and 1970's detailing the truth. He is not Scott Pruitt, true, but they are both part of the same problem administration. The willful denial of truth infects this White House at every level and every position. They are a criminal cabal of bomb-throwing extremists, and they do NOT CARE ABOUT TRUTH....only ideological goals, and even THOSE goals are dubious and of limited basis in reality.

I wish these sons of bitches eternal infamy in whatever passes for human history and society after the coming die-off and resource wars. It is going to be ugly and humanity itself may very well be a casualty of it in the end, but if anything resembling society survives...the names - Trump, Tillerson, Pruitt, Bannon, et. al. - MUST go down in history alongside their predecessors....Hitler, Himmler, Goebbels, etc. These are enemies of humanity, not just political foes.

They KNOW they are lying and doing things that will kill untold millions in the future....they just do not care because the calculus for them is clear..."I will be dead by then anyway, so fuck the future idiots...gonna get mine now while I still can."

Scott Pruitt is a minion of the oil companies, and a longtime denier-in-chief.

Making him head of the EPA doesn't mean that anything he says is true.

5. Point of contention: it is not Ideological

The Oil & Gas Industry are working to do one thing: delay action to pad the corporate bottom line. They have rationalized that funding the Denialists is their responsibility to their shareholders. Pruitt is simply another means to that end.

Corporations are people, but they're Sociopathic.

I live in Connecticut and it seems like most of the on air (TV and Radio) meteorologists are hard core right wingers who laugh at the idea of climate change.

I rarely watch the local news or listen to local radio as it seems to be a requirement to get hired here in Connecticut.

Many TV weathermen/women are pretty faces paid to read the immediate forecast and operate the fancy computer maps. It has nothing to do with climate as a whole.

But I get it, profits are precious. Greedy shortsighted fuckers. And the sad thing is you can get morons to believe anything, for crying out loud, there are trolls out there getting ding-alings to think the earth is flat. People are so dumb. sigh.

17. Trump's executive order will end the EPA anyway...
Tue Mar 14, 2017, 01:52 AM
Mar 2017

It all makes sense when you realize that Trump's executive order he signed today is to basically shut down and end all govt agencies that actually do anything for the people..so they have to have businesses do it all, for a price, or go without.

He wants to END the EPA, HUD, etc..

and the reason he is defunding the Coast Guard is their loyalty is more to the people than the state he represents, and he knows it.
