Former Rep. Stockman Arrested on Election Law Charges

Accused of funneling hundreds of thousands of dollars in donations to personal account

Former Texas Republican Rep. Steve Stockman was jailed Thursday on charges of violating federal election law during his last term in office.

Stockman was brought into court shackled and handcuffed, KPRC-TV in Houston reported and bail was set at $25,000. A conviction could send Stockman to federal prison.

According to a complaint, Stockman set up a non-profit called Life Without Limits in 2011 that received a single $350,000 donation. Stockman is accused of funneling that money back to himself through payments to employees.

When Stockman was told he would need to have an attorney by 2 p.m Friday, he said “I’ll have to hustle with that.”

Hat tip, Joe.My.God: TEXAS: Teabagger Former House Rep. Steve Stockman Dragged Away In Handcuffs For Embezzlement

There are many links in the article, but Roll Call is one of those sites at which cutting and pasting is turned into an exercise in futility.

Steve Stockman's spokesman was Donny Ferguson. Ferguson has just revamped his Twitter site, so I wouldn't expect to see much there.

Before he worked for Stockman, Ferguson worked for former Loudoun County, Virginia, supervisor Eugene Delgaudio.

ALL his and his family's money needs to be taken from them.
The only thing that will get any republican lawbreaker's attention is to take away all their money. Jail time is not enough. Leave'em penniless like they want to leave so many Americans.

Fuck you, Stockman. Jeez, my schadenfreude is unconfined. In the past, I would have said it couldn't happen to a more deserving guy---but then the trump administration happened.......

Of course he won't go to PRIZZON. Maybe a country club for politicians. Prizzon lite.

Only crooks go to the real prison.

You know, the ones caught with a bag of pills.
