The boot has been given its marching orders, the wheelbarrow has been wheeled out, and the thimble got the thumbs down in the latest version of the board game Monopoly. In their place will be a Tyrannosaurus Rex, a penguin and a rubber ducky.
More than 4.3million voters from 146 countries weighed in on which pieces they wanted to see in future versions of the property-acquisition game and makers Hasbro announced the winners on Friday

(10,419 posts)Like "no banker" and all the cash went into Free Parking, which you claimed when you landed there.
Also, when I played as a kid we didn't know what a mortgage was, so we never bothered.

The problem is, almost nobody plays by the actual rules. Every family in America uses their own set of house rules (like money on Free Parking) that have been handed down through generations. These draw the game out and make it deadly dull.

I'd almost rather play "TRUMP the Game"

So many excellent modern board game designs out there, and yet people still buy that box of crap by the millions.
