Boeing plans layoffs for May

Source: CNN

Boeing sent a notice to employees at its commercial jet factories Friday warning of layoffs in May.

Workers at the company's Washington state factories were informed by their union that Boeing had issued a federally-required notice that "involuntary layoffs were scheduled for May."

A Boeing spokesman confirmed the 60-day notice, but declined to say precisely when it would initiate the layoffs or how many positions would be cut.

Boeing (BA) has been cutting staff to reduce costs since early 2016, primarily through buyouts and the attrition of executives, managers and engineering staff. The notices are the first official signal from the company that it will lay off some of the factory workers who assemble its jets.

I guess after he dissed Merkle (no formal handshake and not even a state dinner, for the head of a state government, what a jerk ) and went down to Mar a Lago costing 3 million to golf, the "space" between is ears is very limited to corruption and his ties to corruption

in 2013 after 25 years, and 1 year after the birth of his son.. After 1 year unemployed, and brain surgery on his wife ( she's fine), Boingo 're-hired' him.. sent him to fucking Huntsville on his OWN $20, 000 to move, without a guarantee of any length of time he would be employed. His job is 1/2 commercial and 1/2 military. The guy is a damn genius !!! Both he and his wife are... very culturally astute .. and now have to live in Huntsville..

Well, I shouldn't complain about that I guess. he has a job, for now... She is a yoga teacher and had to leave all her SoCal students and start a studio all over....

blechkkk

EDIT: How do a yoga teacher and an aerospace engineer get along? you might ask... Don't ask.

Trump is always bellowing about job gains even those announced before he took office. Fine, then let's get the media to start cataloging and showing all the losses as well, Boeing being just one example. With many expecting a natural turn-down in the Dow and business activity in general after 8 years of uninterrupted growth, this would seriously undercut all his bullshite.

Btw, I tried to message ABC News with this idea but ran into a brick wall as they wanted it submitted as a story and then it needed to be vetted by their legal beagles. Hoo-boy!
