Leak is the 'one crime we know of' in Russia investigation: GOP Intelligence Committee chair Nunes

The Republican head of a congressional panel investigating accusations of Russia's interference in the 2016 U.S. election said on Sunday a leak involving former Trump aide Michael Flynn was a crime and that the panel was probing whether other names were leaked.

"The one crime we know that's been committed is that one: the leaking of someone's name ...," Representative Devin Nunes, chairman of the House of Representatives Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence, told Fox News Sunday.

Trump has been dogged by allegations that his associates had ties to Russian officials. Trump fired Flynn, his former national security adviser, last month after he failed to disclose contacts with Russia's ambassador before Trump took office on Jan. 20.

Trump has found himself at odds with Democrats and Republicans alike, including Nunes, over his March 4 assertion that the Obama administration tapped his phones during the 2016 presidential campaign.

House Intel Chair: No FISA Warrant 'That I'm Aware Of' On Trump Tower

House Intelligence Committee Chair Devin Nunes (R-CA) said on Sunday that he is not aware of any foreign intelligence surveillance court (FISA) warrant for surveillance of Trump Tower.

"Was there a physical wiretap of Trump Tower? No, but there never was," Nunes said on "Fox News Sunday." He said that information the House Intelligence Committee received from the FBI on Friday "continues to lead us in that direction."

"The President doesn't go and physically wiretap something. So if you take the President literally, it didn't happen," Nunes said. "I think the concern that we have is that, were there any other surveillance activities that were used."

"I just want to make that point," Chris Wallace said. "There is no evidence that there was any wiretap, I'm not talking about President Obama doing it but his administration, no evidence of any wiretapping of Trump Tower?"

"There was no FISA warrant that I'm aware of to tap Trump Tower, that's correct," Nunes said. "That's accurate."
