Collins says Trump 'owes us' a wiretapping explanation

President Donald Trump owes Congress and the American people an explanation about his claims that former President Barack Obama wiretapped Trump Tower, Sen. Susan Collins said on Sunday.

Appearing on NBC's "Meet the Press," the Maine Republican stopped short of saying the president should apologize, but said he should turn over any evidence of wiretapping to the House and Senate Intelligence Committees for their investigations into Russian hacking during the 2016 presidential campaign.

"I'd like to first get to the bottom of this before saying what should be done," Collins said. "I don't know the basis for President Trump's assertion. And that's what I wish he would explain to us on the Intelligence Committee and to the American people. And I do believe he owes us that explanation."............................

if tRump came out and said that he had heard a rumor, nothing more, that he didn't have any evidence? He would lose credibility, but he doesn't have much to begin with anyway.
