Trump: Don't Worry! O'care Will 'Explode,' We Will Pick Up The Pieces

Source: Talking Points Memo

By KRISTIN SALAKY Published MARCH 25, 2017, 10:59 AM EDT

President Donald Trump tweeted Saturday for the first time about the Republicans' failure to bring their health care bill up for a vote in the House, telling Americans not to worry but that Obamacare would "explode."

The tweet echoes what Trump has said about the Affordable Care Act in the past, often remarking in the process of trying to pass the American Health Care Act that the Republicans were doing Democrats a favor and maybe should just let Obamacare "implode" and make Democrats "own it."

Republicans control both houses of congress and the Presidency. Anything that happens now - including the failure of Obamacare is their responsibility.

limit access, reduce efficiency and affordability, and try to turn people against it. In spite of all this, tens of millions more people now have healthcare, medical bankruptcies have declined, and the ACA is more popular than ever. I was pleased to read in another thread that even the GOP Kansas legislature is now trying to expand Medicaid under the ACA.

if the GOPee and Faux, flush, etc. hadn't spent years demonizing and lying about the ACA to their dimwitted followers. Without that propaganda, the ACA would be even more popular. Which, of course, is what the kochroaches and their ilk don't want--we can't have the gubmint helping people, now, can we?

I hope that it's finally dawning on 'Muricans which party is actually for the average working American, not the oligarchs.

There are problems with it. We'll have to wait and see how this works out.

There are areas in which it is working pretty well, but more rural areas/states are running into some bad problems.

Yes we own it and I'm proud of that ownership but it needs tweeked. It needs a public option at the very least.

will explode because Donnie and his merry band of robber barons are going to see to it that it is gutted on the regulatory level.......just like he has done with the State Department.

Time for the Democrats to begin offering ways to fix Trumpcare (take it back from Trump) or start making sure that the steps taken by Trump to destroy people's insurance is well known.

Republicons will try to silently sabotage ObamaCare but they do not "own" ObamaCare.

Trump and the Republicons own "Repeal / Replace" and any efforts they make to sabotage ObamaCare.

Framing of issues is important. Republicons would love to own the parts of ObamaCare that everyone loves so please do not deal them that hand.

8. A fable:
Sat Mar 25, 2017, 11:27 AM
Mar 2017

Once upon a time there was a school that had a lot of students that needed rides to school, so the school board bought a bunch of schoolbuses. Everybody complained about the buses -- they were too expensive, the routes weren't good, people whose kids were in walking distance had to pay too, et cetera, et cetera.

So, a new slate of candidates ran for office, promising to get much better schoolbuses for much less money. They got in and the first thing they did was to set up a way to dump the old buses and bring in the much cheaper but spiffier new ones that were guaranteed to please everyone.

But then...they discovered that the old school board had cut a much better deal than anyone had realized and there weren't actually any possibilities for saving money that didn't leave a whole big bunch of students stranded. They tried to get approval for one plan that would let the poorer students just hoof it, figuring that they needed the exercise and didn't really want to ride the schoolbus anyway.

After that plan didn't fly, they fell back on an even better one: they'd keep the old schoolbus fleet but stop maintaining it. Sooner or later, the buses would become less and less reliable, and if they were really lucky, a bus would crash spectacularly and kill a bunch of kids. In the resulting crisis atmosphere of grief and shock, they could do anything they want. They could even blame the whole debacle on the previous school board.

No normal human being would think like that. Right?

If Trump were capable of coming up with a comprehensive plan that provided better health outcomes at a lower price he could have done so. He didn't even bother to try. He is incompetent and relied on a pack of jackals dedicated to an Ayn Rand dystopia, who themselves failed at the one project they had been yammering about for the past 8 years. This was the latest in 60-plus failed votes to destroy our healthcare. They stand fully exposed as completely incapable of the task of governing and securing healthy future for our citizens.

The naloxone (spelling) drug to reverse overdoses, alone breaks the bank of many small American towns.

Drug Corps charge about $100 each pre-loaded dose and reports from EMT I know is it can take 3 or 4 'doses' to reverse an overdose.
