Minnesota GOPers Sorry For Post Calling Keith Ellison Muslim Goat Humper

Source: TPM

Minnesota’s state Republican chair apologized Monday to Rep. Keith Ellison (D-MN) for a post on the 7th Congressional District Republican Party’s Facebook page calling the congressman “Minnesota’s Head Muslim Goat Humper.”

“As chair of the Republican Party of Minnesota I absolutely would like to issue an apology to Congressman Ellison,” state party chair Jennifer Carnahan told the Star Tribune on Monday.

She would not identify the person who made the post, per the Star Tribune, but said that they “resigned immediately” and “no longer represent” the state’s Republican Party.

The original post was deleted several hours after it was made on Monday night. According to a screencap taken by GoMN, its original caption cited conservative commentator David Horowitz and referred to Ellison as a “raving, Louis Farrakhan supporting, anti-Semite, anti-white, racist and fascist American.”

and active in the Political scene as with my husband since 2001, we have gotten to personally know a lot of people. Keith Ellison is one of those people. As are Tim Walz (our 1st CD Congressman), Al Franken, Mark Dayton, Rebecca Otto, and on down the State Party line. They are considered friends we interact with on a first name basis. I even consider former Gov. Arne Carlson a friend, a Republican!

This is who the Minnesota Republicans are. Dishonest, morally corrupt, willing to waddle in the mud and mire of dirty politics and name calling. Anti-Muslim sentiment is rampant here in Olmsted County. Anti-LGBTQ rants from the MNGOP are a constant.

The desire to turn Minnesota into another Kansas by the GOP dominated Legislature is at a fever pitch. But as long as a Democrat resides in the house on Summit Avenue, the Republicans get vetoed. There are not enough in either House here to override a veto. We will see to that in 2018.

The rethugs are so partisan and childish that there was nothing to give them a hint that doing that was a shitty thing to do and just might blow back on them? They were eager to lower the discourse to such a level with no thought to how they looked or the consequences?

Reason #13,062 to fight them in the political arena with everything we have.

I feel the racism of the last presidential campaign was underplayed by the corporate media. Now the person in the White House has given them a voice. I mean Ted Nugent in the Oval Office, how sad. Every time I feel progress has been made, these idiots get into power and start with the racist and misogynistic policies and legislation.

Peace

... accept PERSONAL responsibility. An "anonymous" individual who (supposedly) "resigned" can be easily re-hired... assuming that the resignation was real to begin with.
