Parents of gay, bi men in Chechnya told: Kill your children or we will

Source: LGBTQ Nation

By Jeff Taylor · Tuesday, May 2, 2017

According to the British government, Chechnya’s president, Ramzan Kadyrov, plans to eliminate the LGBTQ community by the start of Ramadan, less than a month away. As we previously reported, survivors have outlined abuses including electrocution and beatings, and shared that when and if they are brought back home, their families are told they should murder them in an honor killing.

Now we have a man who made it out alive sharing that sometimes families are invited to the prison sites and told to kill their relative, or else the authorities will do it themselves.

“They tell the parents to kill their child,” said the man, whose identity has been protected over fears for his safety. “They say, ‘Either you do it or we will.’ They call it, ‘Cleaning your honor with blood.'”

“They tortured a man for two weeks,” he continued. “They summoned his parents and his brothers who all came. They said to them, ‘Your son is a homosexual. Sort it out or we’ll do it ourselves.’ They replied, ‘It’s our family, we’ll do it.’ The family took him and killed him in the forest. They buried him there. They didn’t even give him a funeral.” The man said that if he were to go home, he believes his family would do likewise, leaving him to suffer the same fate.

Very curious. Email? Phone? If somebody calls me and says to kill my kid, my instant assumption is that they are nuts. And I treat it as such. Maybe it does not work that way in Chechnya, but this sounds more like a death cult than a country of sane people.

homosexuals by Ramadan (less than a month away) means nothing, huh? I've posted plenty of accounts from "nut jobs", as you like to call them, maybe you should do a site search and read the accounts. Including from UN leadership.

Except that Holocaust happens again, and again. To different groups. In different countries. But again.

"We continue to be disturbed by reports of kidnapping, torture, and murder of people in Chechnya based on their sexual orientation and those persecuted by association. If true, this violation of human rights cannot be ignored – Chechen authorities must immediately investigate these allegations, hold anyone involved accountable, and take steps to prevent future abuses.

We are against all forms of discrimination, including against people based on sexual orientation. When left unchecked, discrimination and human rights abuses can lead to destabilization and conflict.

Tomorrow, the United States will lead a first-ever meeting on human rights in international conflicts in the UN Security Council to underscore our commitment to addressing human rights abuses wherever they threaten international peace and security."

Will anyone come to their aid?! Maybe the president will get his wish and eliminate many gay and bi men before Ramadan. I know he is hoping for "all", but unless (mainly) heterosexuals stop having children, then the "gay problem" will keep happening. My mother would sooner die multiple deaths than for me (or my brothers) to suffer one!

This is not like dealing with a Christian pizza shop in Skokie that won't serve LGBTQs, and folds quickly under Facebook pressure. There are pretty much zero fucks given by Chechens as to what we or anyone else thinks of them.

This will not be an easy region to help evolve.

...Unlike Saudi Arabia, whose 1.11 million barrels of oil they sell us each day helps us overlook the fact that they also punish homosexuality with the death penalty.

Weird coincidence. This could be the focus of the parade if some of the refugees end up in NYC.
