President Trump on Monday called for his former acting attorney general to answer questions about how classified information was leaked to newspapers.
"Ask Sally Yates, under oath, if she knows how classified information got into the newspapers soon after she explained it to W.H. Council," the president tweeted Monday.

Anticipation is high ahead of testimony Monday before a Senate Judiciary subcommittee from Sally Yates.
Yates, who was fired by Trump after her refusal to back his controversial immigration order, is expected to give her account of the warnings she gave to the White House regarding former national security adviser Michael Flynn's contacts with the Russian ambassador to the U.S.
Yates reportedly told the White House that Flynn might have misled the administration about the content of his communications with Sergey Kislyak.

It's not a dictatorship, you didn't flounder into office by a quirk to be elected emperor or king.
You're supposed to be a high-ranking public servant! Do your job, and let the other 2 branches do theirs!

President Donald Trump has drawn a lot of criticism for his decision to lash out at former acting Attorney General Sally Yates on Monday, just hours before she was scheduled to testify about former Trump National Security Adviser Michael Flynn.
Appearing on CNN to talk about the presidents tweet in which he said that someone should ask Sally Yates, under oath, if she knows how classified information got into the newspapers soon after she explained it to W.H. Council (sic) legal analyst Jeffrey Toobin said that Trumps behavior crosses the line of what we consider to be normal behavior for a politician in the United States.
It just shows how much the norms of behavior have changed, Toobin said. The idea of the President of the United States essentially threatening a witness, hes basically accusing her of leaking, we have never had that before. Weve never had presidents who did this kind of thing. The idea that the president the guy whos in charge of the Justice Department is threatening a witness is really kind of disturbing.
Yates was fired from her role as acting attorney general earlier this year after she refused to enforce the administrations proposed travel ban. She will reportedly testify on Monday afternoon that she gave the Trump administration warnings about Flynn possibly being compromised by the Russian government.

President Donald Trump was up early tweeting Monday, defending his close friend and former national security adviser retired Lt. Gen. Michael Flynn.
CNNs David Gregory was shocked Trump took to Twitter to defend Flynn and blame former President Barack Obama for giving Flynn security clearance.
But it was former CIA agent Phil Mudd that hammered Trump on his lack of basic knowledge on the role of the president and the White House.
The president is a little confused this morning, hes giving me some humor at 5:00 a.m. pacific time, Mudd said of Trumps tweet. The White House doesnt give security clearances. Individual agencies give security clearance He doesnt have any for the security clearance. As youre suggesting, the issue here is whether the [Trump] White House had an ethics process for an incoming official. Typically, what you would do is say list your sources of income, list what you have been doing over the last year, list conversations youre having about representative employment so you would know when youre sitting down for a sensitive conversation in the White House about sanctions whether somebody around the table took money from Russia. There was an ethics conversation that the White House should have started.
