Christie says he didn't see 'red flags' with Michael Flynn

Source: Politico

By KATHERINE LANDERGAN 05/09/17 08:12 AM EDT

Gov. Chris Christie said Tuesday that he did not notice any "red flags" with Michael Flynn when he headed President Donald Trump's transition team. "He was not always my cup of tea in terms of style, and I made that clear," Christie said on Good Morning America. "But not red flags."

His comments came a day after former acting Attorney General Sally Yates revealed how she told Trump administration officials that then-national security adviser Flynn was vulnerable to blackmail from Russia. President Donald Trump subsequently waited 18 days to fire him.

When asked to explain why the White House took so long to take action, Christie said "you'd have to ask them."

"I think in the end what matters is the president acted decisively very early in the administration to get rid of General Flynn," he said. "I was with him the next day and told him it was the right decision." Christie declined to say whether he warned Trump against making Flynn national security adviser, but said that "Suffice to say General Flynn and I don't necessarily see eye to eye on certain things."

Crapstorm going on all around him, but like Sgt. Schultz, he knows nothing. I can't wait for the day he's no longer my governor.
