Donald Trump promised repeatedly on the campaign trail that he would move the U.S. Embassy in Israel from Tel Aviv to the nations capitol in Jerusalem.
It now seems, however, that the plan has been officially scrapped. The Israeli news organization Arutz Sheva and multiple others were reporting Wednesday that senior U.S. sources had informed the Israeli government and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu that Trump would extend a directive postponing the move for six months. Presidents of both parties have routinely issued this postponement for decades.

(10,424 posts)It would have cost beaucoup bucks to move all of the infrastructure from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem. Plus, it would have been a security nightmare. Besides, Tel Aviv is the center of government. The embassy needs to be there. Keep Jerusalem as a consulate.
