Poll: Trump's approval rating slips to 36 percent

Source: The Hill

President Trump's approval rating has reached near-record lows, according to a Quinnipiac University poll released Wednesday.

The survey of registered voters found that 36 percent say they approve of Trump's job performance, compared to 58 percent who disapprove. Trump's approval has fallen from the 40 percent recorded in the same poll released in mid-April.

"There is no way to spin or sugarcoat these sagging numbers," said Tim Malloy, assistant director of the Quinnipiac University Poll. "[These] are red flags that the administration simply can't brush away."

I'm guessing this poll was concluded before yesterday's bombshell.

We have to assume that a fraction of the population just gravitate towards authoritarianism. I've been estimating that between 1 in 3 and 1 in 4. It's going to take egregious pissing off to drop the numbers much more.

Not that the Trumpenproletariat aren't capable of turning vindictive, and if Mango Mussolini has one strength, it appears to be continuing to dig holes.

It was released 4/17 and isn't valid any longer. Both the daily tracking polls have him down - even pathetically right wing rassmussen. And that was before this latest hot mess he's found himself in. It's like he can't get out of his own way.

The poor staffers who work for him see the worst. Who can be loyal to that asshole? I know I wouldn't be.

As long as people aren't complicit (part of Trump's betrayal) they might as well leak stuff.
They just need to be sure they don't get caught.

I bet that's how Rachel Maddow gets some of her info.

I think around 30% of the population, no matter what, are lock step, brain dead conservative republicans. The Rush Limbaugh, Infowars, Sean Hannity folk. If it ever drops below 30% then that's a very bad sign for dumpy. But that will never happen unless Fox News tells them to turn on him.

. . .the numbers make sense. Let's just say 25% are full on R's. That's 16% overall right there. Now, of the other 75% less than 24% approve, so among non-R's, his approval rating is under one-third.

I can see that, i suppose.

that most people WANT to support their president, their commander-in-chief. They need a reason NOT to and it looks like 64% have found that reason. I pointed out in another post, even nixon didn't go below 30 until just before resignation.
