Poll Finds Growing Support for Impeaching Trump

Forty-eight percent of American voters now want the president impeached.

Over Trump's last month in office, the government has lost an FBI director, gained a controversial new healthcare bill, and left many people wondering whether or not the current administration can be trusted to handle highly classified intelligence. Perhaps those are just some of the reasons that a majority of American voters say they want Trump impeached, according to a new poll.

The poll, released Tuesday from Public Policy Polling, surveyed 692 registered voters from around the country between May 12–14—right after former FBI director James Comey's abrupt dismissal—and asked about their approval of Trump's job so far and how long they think he'll last in the Oval Office. It found that 48 percent of American voters think Trump should be impeached, while 41 percent disagree.

Even more voters—54 percent—disapprove with the job Trump's done, while only 40 percent approve. Those numbers are slightly higher than a Quinnipiac University poll released last Wednesday that clocked Trump's approval rating at just 36 percent. According to Gallup, Trump's 36 percent approval rating is a record low for any president since the poll began in 1953.

"There is no way to spin or sugarcoat these sagging numbers," Tim Malloy, Quinnipiac University Poll's assistant director, said. "Deepening concerns about Trump's honesty, intelligence, and level headedness are red flags that the administration simply can't brush away."......................................

is if you offer a similarly odious "replacement" to cling to. Then they might drop him and move on to the replacement. Otherwise the vacuum is too much for them to handle.

There is really good news for us:

PPP's new national poll finds that Republicans are facing significant backlash over the health care bill that's having the effect of firing up Democrats and putting them in position to make major gains in the House next year. Democrats now have a 49-38 lead overall on the generic Congressional ballot, up from 47-41 a month ago. Even more notable though is that among voters who say they're 'very excited' to turn out in the 2018 election, the Democratic lead balloons to 27 points at 61-34. The outcome of lower turnout midterm elections often hinges on which side is more engaged, and Democrats have the clear advantage at this point on that front- 63% of their voters say they're 'very excited' about voting in next year's election compared to only 52% of Republicans who say the same.
bolding mine.

This poll was before today's bomb shells, so the next poll should be even more devastating.

to get rid of as many republicans as possible. We have to get people in place and then start building party loyalty to Democrats!

Long term, we realy need to work on ways to increase turnout, permanently. Losing ground on this is one reason we're in this mess.

A lot of work ahead.

To be really effective and to save the nation, Trump's abettors and co-conspirators need to be held accountable also.

We don't want Pence to be able to pass the Ryan-Putin-Bannon-Koch Bros. agenda.

The Polls For Republicans Are A 'Disaster,' Believe Me

The Republican Party is going down, folks. Public Policy Polling published today:

Voters are both having buyer's remorse about the outcome of the 2016 election and wishing they could return to the good old days of 4 months ago. By an 8 point margin, 49/41, they say they wish Hillary Clinton was President instead of Trump. And by a 16 point margin, 55/39, they say they wish Barack Obama was still in office instead of Trump.

One thing hurting Trump is that Americans expect honesty from their President and his aides, and they feel like they're not getting it. Last week Trump tweeted that it was unreasonable to expect his press staff to always tell the truth, but 77% of voters say they do expect the President's Press Secretaries to tell the truth all the time compared to only 14% who say that isn't that expectation. Only 38% of voters say they consider Trump to be honest, to 55% who say they don't think he is. And a majority of voters (51%) outright say they consider Trump to be a liar to 41% who say they disagree with that characterization.

One issue that's not going away is Trump's failure to release his tax returns. 62% of voters continue to think he needs to release them, to only 29% who think it's not necessary for him to. 61% would even support a law requiring candidates for President to release 5 years of tax returns in order to appear on the ballot, with just 28% opposed to such a provision.

And while TrumpRussia reinforces the public's opinion that Trump is a liar, it's the health care vote that makes people want to chuck their Republican congressman out with last night's garbage. The Democratic advantage of people "excited" to vote in 2018 is +27%. And PPP says it's primarily the "significant backlash" over the AHCA vote. The threatened feeling people have over their health insurance is guaranteed not to go away. ............................................

I just want to really know...how the hell can ANYONE say that what the Comey letter says isn't absolute obstruction?? Why, oh why are there tv legal analysts saying that it may not be? It's so black & white. I keep trying hard to wait for the final blow & when I believe there is one...they keep saying it isn't. HOW????? What exactly would these idiot republicans need to have as proof? I just keep shaking my head. The polls are looking better but they are nowhere near what they really should be. Freakin amazes me that any human being still back this nightmare. These trump supporters truly are evil; truly are brainless hateful creatures.
