Texas Police Officers Used N-Word After Shooting Jordan Edwards, Family Says

Source: International Business Times

BY JULIANA ROSE PIGNATARO @JULIE_PIGNATARO ON 05/18/17 AT 4:26 PM

The family of 15-year-old Jordan Edwards, who was shot and killed by a Texas police officer after leaving a party in April, spoke out Thursday for the first time following his death. The Edwards family told CBS News in an interview that the police officers at the scene used the n-word shortly after shooting Jordan.

Jordan was sitting in the front seat of a car leaving a party in a Dallas suburb April 29 when he was shot in the head by officer Roy Oliver. The Balch Springs Police Department originally said the car was moving toward officers in an “aggressive manner,” a story that was contradicted by video from the scene. The footage that emerged afterward showed that the car was moving away from the officers.

The Dallas County Medical examiner said Jordan’s death was a homicide resulting from a rifle wound to the head.

. . .

Sixteen-year-old Vidal Allen, Jordan’s stepbrother, was sitting next to him in the car when he was killed. Vidal told CBS News' Omar Villanfranca that they pulled over after Jordan was shot to get help and were confronted and detained by the same officers who shot him. Vidal said he was called the n-word by an officer before he was handcuffed. He said he thought he would be shot also.

The Confederacy is unrepentant.

Half of the US are Nazis or KKK types.

We thought we were building something better during the last 50 - 100 years.

We were wrong. Underneath it's all rot.

Not all of the rot is in the Southern states, but that is its home territory.

Regardless of geography, half of us are no damned good.

I believe the numbers have to be in the 35% range to have the power and clout they have now, and to get trump into office.

There's plenty of rot.

The problem of white supremacy in the United States is not contained to "Nazi or KKK types" but is systematic and obscured, leading to an opaque power structure that allows people to participate in white supremacy without fully recognizing their complicity.

If you only go after "Nazi and KKK types" then you miss the big picture.

I just think the hard core are about 30 to 35% of Americans, but the problem is far more systemic.

But seeing how they found that other killer cop in Tulsa not guilty yesterday, you need all the evidence you can get.

They even caught the whole department in a lie when they initially tried to defend the killer cop by saying that the car the unarmed teen was riding in was "aggressively backing up towards the officer".

That of course was proven untrue by a camera that caught the incident.

It's still open season on unarmed, innocent black people.

the suspects which kinda makes sense in a way since the police are supposed to be the ones enforcing the law and you dont think that they would break it themselves but the fact is they do.
Hell I see cops often breaking the speeding laws and there is no way in hell its because of an accident or on a silent alarm since one of the areas I them doing it is the only thing out there is deer and I dont think the deer will be involved in robbery other than a vegetable garden and if it was an accident response you would think they would have their lights on.
