Manchin to Trump: Work with Democrats 'who are willing to meet you in the middle'

Source: The Hill

BY REBECCA SAVRANSKY - 07/02/17 09:58 AM EDT

Sen. Joe Manchin (D-W.Va.) on Sunday said he wants President Trump to succeed and called for him to work with Democrats on healthcare legislation.

During an interview on "Fox News Sunday," Manchin said he has always wanted to repair ObamaCare, as opposed to repealing and replacing the former president's signature healthcare legislation.

"The only thing I'm saying to to President Trump...He's the president of all of America, Democrats and Republicans, independents, those who voted for him, those who voted against him, he is our president and I want him to succeed," Manchin said.

"I want him to know there are Democrats that want to work with him."
Manchin said the Senate can't get 50 votes to repeal ObamaCare right now.

45 believed he could work things out best by excluding everyone who would disagree with him. Opening the tent would be a logical course of action for a wise person.

...Therefore, the suggestion will probably be summarily disregarded by Pmurt and crew.

Republicans don't keep cutting themselves off at the knee, like this better-than-a-Republican Senator. Democrats are now STILL REACHING OUT and getting their hands slapped away, as if they haven't learned a fucking thing from the last nine years. Thanks, Senator Manchin.

An introductory course in Russian and endless capitulation to congressional Republicans?

Passing DonTCare and stealing the means of health care from millions, as long as there a big asterisk saying "except for West Virginia"?

for the last 45 years , I have seen my employee "health insurance coverage" go from 95/5 to now they are trying to have it at 58/42, Medicare is 80/20 now, and now some one wants me a liberal progressive to meet in the middle and have a kumbya moment, and have the 58/42 in the middle health insurance coverage, not health care. Medicare has always been the leading indicator has to what the public is suppose to be getting from employer based health insurance coverage, and with "fellows" wanting to work with a group that has been relentless and take it away since 1964, you want me, a liberal democrat to work with them?
So in response, FUCK THIS SHIT.

Why should my democratic party work with a fucking republican and especially a sexual predator, I do not want him to succeed, the public is going to have this sexual predator face painted on some picture and hanging in some hall along with other presidents---------------that alone is disgraceful. And I really hate TREASON, I mean A LOT, and this 4th July weekend the public gets this shit of working in the middle ..............................

And as for the "guy" from WV--------

to know end, the only thing this "guy" is looking at is his re-election, and then to say to have this sexual predator needs to succeed---------------

WHAT the FUCK this is disgraceful, I mean really, he trots out on a propaganda cable channel, to spew, this middle shit.

I keep thinking of this sexual predator picture hanging in the white house, Nixon was a sleaze, and he did commit treason, when he went to Vietnam (ref: LBJ tape phone conversation to Senator Dirkson), but a sexual predator, that bragged about it, and then made some half ass apology

HE IS NOT PRESIDENT..............I was one of the 65 million that voted for the "popular winning candidate" compared to his 62 million that voted for a sexual predator, and the electoral college and there ....................BS

Thank you for the kind words..............

every other country in the world has it as right.

When everyone pays there share it a society instead of having the have not's and the haves, it would be remarkable.

I don't have a Utopian concept and never have when it came to health care, all I know is that I worked my entire 56 year life, to attain Medicare when I reached 65, and paid money into this wonderful system, called Medicare, and in the process, I helped someone else out with and they helped me out, and if everyone "really looked at that cost not as some "government ' program but as health care insurance instead a for profit BS

Medicare for all, no other alternative, let me and everyone have a choice my public plan going head to head with a for profit-------and I think we will win hands down...............

He is being manipulated and then encouraged to recede into his own little twitter world where he is the "greatest". You need to find someone else in the government willing to "work" with Democrats.

He's about as much in the middle as the dixiecrats of yore. I do wish he'd finally be honest with himself, come on out of the closet and announce to the country he's really a Rethuglican. For all practical purposes, that's exactly what the Manchinian candidate is.

Single Payer is the Progressive plan.

Obamacare was a conservative plan.

To acquiesce to what they want means the death of thousands and the suffering of millions.

What part of their plan would you be okay with?

exclusive .

Single payer is mutual progressives only ? Maybe we need to stop pointing fingers and accusing and start working with one another .

Does not matter what I would be okay with , will see what is proposed and go from there . My husband and myself did not sign up for ACA since group plan through work worked better for us the last few years, next year to year and half will be a different story .

doesn't fly here.

And again, what part of anything the GOP has put forth about healthcare would you agree to?

How much of the GOP agenda are you willing to accept, and what do you think you will get in return?

And yes Single Payer is progressive. The Conservatives what market based healthcare.

to know what is in either of the bills now being pushed.

If you think accepting what the GOP is offering would improve things, you are in the wrong place.

What they are offering is a complete dismantling of the health care system and taking insurance and healthcare from tens of millions.

They also want to destroy Medicaid and Medicare. Or do you think the voucher system for those programs is also a good idea we should accept?
