Trump, Putin to hold bilateral meeting

(CNN) President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin will sit down for an official bilateral meeting on the sidelines of the G20 summit in Hamburg on Friday, rather than an informal pull-aside meeting.

The meeting, confirmed by both the White House and the Kremlin on Tuesday, will be the first official bilateral meeting between a US and Russian president in nearly two years and comes amid ongoing tensions between the two countries.

"It is planned as a fully-fledged, 'seated' meeting," Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said Tuesday, according to the state-run TASS news agency.

And having the Kremlin announce it is part of the plan so it doesn't look like Trump & Co were trying to avoid the 1:1. Trump's handlers know that a 1:1 would be a intellectual and likely political disaster.

Besides that - how long does it take for Trump to quietly whisper "thank you" in Putin's ear.

Informal meeting = 1:1 between the two leaders.
Bilateral talks = 1:1 meeting between the leaders and their key staff.

To me, the change isn't 1:1... it's "informal meeting" vs. "talks".

he so wanted to give Putin all the voter data, but now will have to find a way to sneak it to him. I know he wants to hand it directly over to his master, but maybe he will let one of the aides hand it off and he'll just get the pleasure of telling Vlad the gift he's given. I won't be surprised at all if the voting results in the states that do turn over information change dramatically to the right in the mid-terms, but not in other states.
