Lawsuit Slams Election Commission's Request: 'Without Precedent And Crazy'

Source: Talking Points Memo

By MATT SHUHAM Published JULY 4, 2017 1:31 PM

The Electronic Privacy Information Center (EPIC), a privacy advocacy group, filed suit on Monday against President Donald Trump’s bogus “election integrity” commission over its request to all 50 states for sensitive voter information.

“(T)he Commission had already committed two egregious security blunders,” EPIC said in a statement on its website. “(1) directing state election officials to send voter records to an unsecure web site and (2) proposing to publish partial SSNs that would enable identity theft and financial fraud.”

In its suit requesting a temporary injunction against the commission’s data collection activities, filed in the D.C. District Court, the group called the request for partial Social Security numbers “both without precedent and crazy.”

It also accused the commission of violating the E-Government Act of 2002, which requires a privacy impact assessment be completed and made available to the public before the collection of personal information by the federal government using information technology. No assessment was conducted before requesting voter data, the suit alleges.

Can YOU imagine if Obama or a President Hillary demanded all the voter records, including the voters party affiliation to do who-knows-what with it? (And after they were under investigation for colluding to steal the election?)

What is wrong with these deplorables? How can they not see the obvious duplicity and this deliberate attempt to stage a coup on the democracy? And if they do, do they really prefer to hand over the country to crooked billionaires and Russians over an honest investigation on corruption at the highest levels?

much the same way with their religion -- they believe what they want to believe (or, whatever makes them feel good). Emotions rule; logic, not so much.

15. I believe they're either going to give the database to Russia, or know that Russia will hack it.

And will make sure the security is such that Russia can get it.

This will save Russia a lot of time and trouble. It won't have to zero in on numerous districts in different states. It'll have all the info in one convenient database.

Then if it needs to alter, say, Sam Jones' vote in St. Paul, MN, THEN it can hack into that system. It already has Jones' information to zero in on his registration. WADDA COUNTRY THE U.S.A. IS!
