After the state of Colorado announced it would comply with the White Houses bogus election integrity panels request to share voter data, hundreds of Denver-area residents canceled their voter registration to keep their private information safe, according to a report from local KDVR News.
But the man leading the panel, Kansas Secretary of StateKris Kobach thinks its just a political stunt.
In an interview with Breitbart News Thursday, Kobach said he heard about the wave of residents unregistering, and called the move interesting and likened it to a political stunt.
It could be a number of things. It could be, actually, people who are not qualified to vote, perhaps someone who is a felon and is disqualified that way or someone who is not a U.S. citizen saying, Im withdrawing my voter registration because I am not able to vote, he said. It could be a political stunt people who are trying to discredit the commission and withdrawing temporarily because they are politically active but planning to get back on the voter rolls before the election next November.

We are going to throw you out. We're going to "discredit the commission" and take your funding. We are going to register to vote. OMG! LOOK OUT!

(3,289 posts)The panel was fatally discredited when you were appointed to head it. Looking at your record of aggressively trying to disenfanchise legal voters your reputation woud suggest that you have no business with anything to do regarding voting rights.

(36,667 posts)So, all republicans want their personal info released?
Kobach-Pence 'Voter Integrity' Commission Wants All State Voter Databases
Would they be ok with giving it to all political parties?
The Democrats, the Nazis, Russia, the Libertarians?
Well, if you give it to the Republicans, it's already going to the Nazis and Russia.
Yeah! Yeah! They have a legal right to it?
Should they?

(59,498 posts)take the file of all people withdrawing their registration -- take a random sample of them -- and check out them out.
What I assume is that in a western state, there are likely enough people who lean libertarian (left and right) who would be acutely concerned with ANYTHING that puts their private identity information in a database where there is no even a signed commitment to keep that information secure and private.
As to anyone on the left - neither Kobach or Ken Blackwell are people who can be trusted. There are few things wher over 40 states stand against the federal government -- and this might be over 45!!

(2,574 posts)Seems like you have a RW Secretary of State who's on the side Kobach, champion of voter suppression & invasion of privacy,
rather than the best interests of Colorado voters he's supposed to represent.
That Coloradans are deregistering is a seriously screaming indication of how much they feel their privacy/voting rights are being violated.

(37,291 posts)Why would anybody who is illegally registered draw attention to themselves by cancelling their registration? Just don't vote!.
Of course there are double voting republicans, maybe it's them.
