White House Plans Messaging Campaign to Refocus Attention on Trump's Agenda

Source: WSJ

The “Made In America” campaign, which starts with the president highlighting locally made products from around the country, is the latest attempt by Mr. Trump’s communications team to control a narrative that has consistently spun out of their grasp during the six months since the inauguration.

The challenge controlling the message is partly due to turmoil within the West Wing over strategy and tactics. Disagreements continue over how the communications shop should be organized and on what policies the team should concentrate, White House officials said. These conflicts have impaired the president’s ability to hire experienced Republican communicators, with even some of Mr. Trump’s supporters declining White House posts.

Scott Jennings, a strident defender of the president on television and an ally of Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, refused White House inquiries about taking a senior-level position in the communications department, two White House officials said. Richard Grenell, a Republican communications adviser, said he wasn’t interested in taking over the podium for news briefings, the White House officials said.

On Monday, the president will tour a display of American-made products inside the White House and on the South Lawn. He will also make remarks to the media about the administration’s commitment to American-made products and the workers and companies who make them.

And at least some in the media will have something to say to Trump about Ivanka's products...none of which will be on display there.

knockoffs won't be featured. This may not go smoothly for Donald, whose own branded goods are notorious for outsourcing.

since January 20, beginning with his pathetic inauguration crowd. It flew from their grasp when Junior released those emails, hoping everybody would say it's okay.

I can picture Junior saying "Don't you know who I am?"

All of the family product lines are made overseas and not one word has he ever spoken about his own products not being made in America. As usual with this crime family, they want to pretend to tell others what to do, for the sound of it. But what they are saying has zero substance since while they say they want to increase American made products, that;s a complete lie. every company they deal with, they exempt them from the buying America steel rule. So only companies they don't own have to follow the rules. Of course, they won't take questions about that or will refuse to answer or will just lie some more. Ugly, disgusting, fraudulent, criminal, traitors that they are.

is distracting from his campaign's and administration's connection and collusion with Russia.

Look for more and more outrageous tweets in the next few days as more news breaks to get everyone talking about the tweets instead of the investigations.
