President Donald Trump on Tuesday morning called for letting Obamacare fail, just hours after saying Republicans should act now to repeal the law offering seemingly mixed messages as the party tries to regroup following the collapse of the Senate health care bill on Monday night.
Trump was consistent, however, in saying that Republicans need to rally around a new health care plan to fulfill the GOPs seven-year promise to get rid of former President Barack Obamas signature legislative achievement.
As I have always said, let ObamaCare fail and then come together and do a great healthcare plan. Stay tuned! Trump tweeted on Tuesday morning, after having wrote Monday night that Republicans should just REPEAL failing ObamaCare now & work on a new Healthcare Plan that will start from a clean slate. Dems will join in!
The president has been applying pressure to Republicans to move quickly on getting rid of Obamacare, so that he can move on to other priorities such as a tax reform package and an infrastructure plan. But Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell has struggled to find a health care bill that will satisfy enough conservatives and moderates to secure the 50 votes needed for passage.

(3,847 posts)The yah-hoos are just starting to understand they will lose ALL health care and they will go after Medicare, then Social Security. I live in a state where 50% of people are on Medicaid and some sort of gov't assistance. Of course most work at Walmart since they are the only game in town.
Are they paying attention to the hell they have thrown themselves and the country into?

(22,756 posts)Barack Obama is beyond comprehension... if the name of the ACA was Romneycare or such it would not be a source of irritation...

(10,611 posts)They figured they could make it fail, so they associated it with President Obama.
That they're being driven by Trump's obsession with President Obama to get rid of everything positive with his name attached to it is poetic justice.

They have changed it.
Whether it succeeds or fails, they own it.

GOP falsely claims that the democrats have no plan.
Hillary put that lie to rest but they still spew their nonsense.

President-elect Donald Trump revealed in an interview with The Washington Post that hes almost finished with a plan to replace ObamaCare and vowed to have insurance for everybody."
---
The president-elect insisted that his plan for replacing the Affordable Healthcare Act is all but finished, and added that care would have lower numbers, much lower deductibles. He went as far to say that hes ready to reveal it alongside Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell and House Speaker Paul Ryan.

(23,946 posts)Sure $50 a month "discount" insurance would be cheaper, but cover nothing. That was his only real plan, all the rest of the ACA is way over his intellectual pay grade.

He's not done one single thing for poor and/or middle class Americans since he became POTUS.
He's of the rich, by the rich, and for the rich, and I wish he would just go back to Hell where he came from.
(Same for Pence, McConnell, Hatch, Eddie Munster and ALL the other GOP leaders)
