Police detain 5 people during demonstration at Hellers office

Source: Las Vegas Sun

Five people were detained during a health care-related demonstration at Sen. Dean Heller’s Las Vegas office this afternoon, according to Metro Police. They were expected to be released with unspecified citations, Officer Larry Hadfield said. The rest of the group dispersed.

Pictures of the demonstration show people holding a cloth banner that says “HELLER Stay Strong SAVE MEDICAID.”

“Senator Heller always values the opportunity to hear directly from the people he represents, and he welcomes their feedback because it helps him do his job best. He is proud of the constituent services operation he has built, and he will continue to always listen to the voices of Nevadans,” said Megan Taylor, a spokeswoman for Heller.

This is the second time this week Metro has responded to Heller’s Las Vegas office.

She provided her personal testimony regarding the critical importance of Medicaid.

Even though she didn't choose to get arrested, she said the police said she and the other protestors were banned from the 4-building complex (where Heller's office is) for a year because it's private property. Does that sound legal? Wouldn't there have to be a court order or something?

every day for weeks, volunteering for the Clinton campaign. Since SF and CA were done deals, they focused on NV and helped contribute to Clinton's win there and to saving Reid's seat. But she was so devastated (as were we all, of course) at how the rest of that catastrophic November evening unfolded... and now, to imagine the progress that might have been made instead of having to fight so hard just to stave off all these horrific proposals. But it is what it is, so... back to Nevada! And yes, I'm very proud of her! She's been very active in the "resistance".
