Schiff: Trump 'clearly worried' about his finances in Russia probe

Source: The Hill

BY MALLORY SHELBOURNE - 07/23/17 11:21 AM EDT

Rep. Adam Schiff (D-Calif.), the ranking member of the House Intelligence Committee, said on Sunday that President Trump is “clearly worried” that the special counsel investigation could include his finances in the Russia probe.

“The president is clearly worried,” about accusations that Russia laundered money through the Trump Organization, Schiff told CBS’s Face the Nation. “What concerns me the most is anything that could be help over the president’s head that could influence US policy,” Schiff added.

Schiff’s concerns come after Trump in an interview last week said it would be “a violation” for special counsel Robert Mueller investigate his or his family’s finances beyond looking for potential ties between Trump’s campaign staff members and the Kremlin.

“I think that’s a violation. Look, this is about Russia,” Trump told The New York Times.

Not that that's a bad thing unnecessarily.

but taken out of context (that is, not hearing the question beforehand that led to the answer) does give it a slightly different twist. But not very different.

Would this uncover possible racketeering on the part of the Trump Organization? You betcha!

And who is the HEAD of the Trump Organization? You got it!

THIS is what big Donnie is afraid of, and he should be VERY afraid.

He said that he's never seen anything like it. When he said he'd consider firing Mueller over getting his tax returns, he was saying, "The proof of my criminality is in the tax returns," with a big arrow pointing at them.

LOL.

“What concerns me the most is anything that could be held over the president’s head that could influence U.S. policy,” Schiff added.
