Judge in Florida teen shooting case refuses to withdraw

MIAMI — The judge in the Trayvon Martin murder trial has rejected a request from the neighborhood watch guard who fatally shot the unarmed black teen that he withdraw from the case, according to court documents released Wednesday.
Florida Judge Kenneth Lester said in his ruling that defendant George Zimmerman's motion was "legally insufficient," as he dismissed the petition that he stand down.
Zimmerman has been charged with second-degree murder over the February 26 incident, in which he shot and killed Martin, 17, in the city of Sanford following an alleged dispute.
Zimmerman had asked Judge Lester to step down from the case, saying in a motion that he would not get a fair trial after the judge rebuked him over a lack of transparency over his finances and revoked his bail bond.

2. Now that is chutzpah. Lie to the judge, then claim judicial bias when you get caught.

I am no lawyer but this seems like a flimsy legal strategy.

3. That seemed a rather lame reason to get the judge dismissed. If the judge heaing the case can't be..

Allowed to rule on wrongdoing in the process, he won't be very effective during the trial. Z and wife are responsible for their own actions. It's not a case of wrongdoing by the judge to do his duty under the law about the truth not being told. Looks like this case is going to be drawn out with lots of objections over every single thing. The defense letting him spout off on FNN is still astounding to me. It's as if they're reinventing the legal system down there in FL and not doing a very good job of it. Good luck to the judge on this trial, he's going to need it.

4. Good for him FUCK Zimmerman.

There was a recent article (which I am FAR TOO lazy to "Google" and post here) which basically said this specific judge is one of the most highly regarded judges in the STATE.

So Zimmerman can sit in his "safe house" and nibble on his taco chips and beef jerky and Jolly Ranchers and BLOW IT OUT HIS ASS while he waits for his trial. FUCK him.
