Kushner: No additional contacts with Russians
Source: CNN
(CNN) Jared Kushner, the President's son-in-law and senior adviser, said in a statement Monday to the Senate and House intelligence committees that he had no additional contacts with individuals who were or may have been Russian government representatives, beyond those that have already been publicly disclosed.
In an 11-page statement released Monday ahead of his closed-door interview with Senate intelligence committee staff, Kushner offers his first public accounting of what he says are his four meetings with Russians during the 2016 campaign and transition, offering previously undisclosed details of those meetings. Kushner insists in the letter that he discussed nothing improper during those meetings, which include two encounters with the Russian ambassador in Washington, a meeting with the head of a Russian state-owned bank and the June 2016 meeting with a Russian lawyer and others that was set up by Kushner's brother-in-law, Donald Trump Jr.
"I did not collude, nor know of anyone else in the campaign who colluded, with any foreign government," Kushner says in the statement. "I had no improper contacts. I have not relied on Russian funds to finance my business activities in the private sector. I have tried to be fully transparent with regard to the filing of my SF-86 form, above and beyond what is required. Hopefully, this puts these matters to rest."
Kushner also disputes a Reuters report claiming he had two phone calls between April and November 2016 with the Russian ambassador, Sergey Kislyak, explaining that he has no recollection of those calls and a "comprehensive review of my land line and cell phone records from the time does not reveal those calls."

Jared Kushner's statement on Russia
We know it's more lies.
NY Times -
By MATT APUZZO and MAGGIE HABERMAN JULY 24, 2017
WASHINGTON President Trumps son-in-law, Jared Kushner, said Monday that he had been unaware that a June 2016 meeting he attended at Trump Tower was set up in hopes that a Russian lawyer would provide the Trump campaign with damaging information about Hillary Clinton.
In prepared remarks to congressional investigators released by Mr. Kushners representatives on Monday morning, Mr. Kushner said he arrived to the meeting late, and was so uninterested in the discussion that he emailed his assistant to ask for her help escaping the meeting.
Mr. Kushner, who is to give his statement to the Senate Intelligence Committee on Monday, said he went to the meeting at the request of the presidents eldest son, Donald J. Trump Jr. Mr. Kushner said he did not read an email forwarded by the younger Mr. Trump saying that the Russian government was providing dirt about Mrs. Clinton as part of its effort to help the Trump campaign.
In his prepared remarks, Mr. Kushner gave his first public explanation of his contacts with Russian government officials and other Kremlin-connected people over the past year. He acknowledged that after the November election he sought a direct line of communication to the Russian president, Vladimir V. Putin. He characterized it as a routine part of his job establishing foreign contacts for Mr. Trumps transition team.

money laundering of Russian mob money to continue and that
a future Trump administrtation would drop the charges against

And that the Russians lent money to Kushner and Trump so they
could buy the NYC real estate which the Russian mob would use

Some lawyers not involved in the case expressed surprise that, given the potential legal pitfalls of the criminal investigation, Kushner or any other Trump advisers would take the risk of talking to Congress, given that such statements could be used against them later by criminal prosecutors.
Its a very difficult tightrope to walk, said Justin Dillon, a former federal prosecutor now in private practice. He has to balance the political fallout from taking the Fifth Amendment with the potential criminal fallout of talking.
Dillon predicted anything Kushner tells the committee will be shared with Mueller.

(128,383 posts)mainly because what can happen is that he eventually DOES testify "under oath" (in the formal sense, including if requested to do a deposition) and then this statement gets compared to whatever he says later and the discrepancies will nail him.

(15,596 posts)Which is NOT the same as saying "I have not received any Russian funds to finance my business activities in the private sector."
"relied on" is open to plenty of interpretations, which is why he and his lawyers carefully chose those words.

(15,596 posts)when he says he didn't "rely" on them, first, why not just say he didn't receive ANY Russian funds? Why say "relied"? It's obfuscating. If i asked you to lend me a million, and you said no, or we never even discussed loans, i wouldn't say i didn't "rely" on you for the money, i'd say you didn't lend me a penny, period. Again, it's a lawyer's word to obfuscate and finagle the mind.

Based on the evidence thus far I think Kushner needs to clear his calendar since he has a lot more testifying yet to do.

For example his company Cadre.

In Cadre a real estate company that has foreign investment including Yuri Milner a Russian billioinaire who is heavily invested in the US tech sector that has Russian mob ties
A growing New York investment shop that primarily provides joint-venture equity is aiming to fund more than $1 billion of commercial real estate purchases in the coming year.
Cadre, launched two years ago by Ryan Williams and brothers Jared and Josh Kushner, supplies equity to investors that have lined up acquisitions. Using a $250 million capital commitment from an unidentified family office, the firm typically provides equity up front, then syndicates the deal to a stable of pre-approved investors.
Those investors include nearly 200 wealthy individuals and institutions. All go through a vetting process to qualify for access to the firms web-based platform, where they can choose to participate in any of Cadres individual deals.
[...]
Cadre, formed in November 2014, has attracted some $70 million in venture capital from backers including Alibaba chairman Jack Ma, Goldman, Founders Fund of San Francisco, General Catalyst Partners of Cambridge, Mass., Russian billionaire Yuri Milner and New York REIT SL Green.
Interesting that Milner is a high stake owner in Facebook, Zynga (Facebook games) Spotify, AirBNB, Groupon, Slack, Digital Sky Technologies, and much more

(128,383 posts)He can get nailed for inconsistencies if he has to give a deposition or other testimony in the future... And since he and Flynn and Manafort (and others) are at the center of Mueller's investigation, he will be doing plenty of future testifying. I.e., Congress can't really deal with criminal stuff but Mueller's team can.
