Story highlights

List of states includes a number of 2016 battlegrounds
Two surprises on the list are Indiana and Texas

Washington (CNN)More Americans disapprove of President Donald Trump's job performance than approve of it across 31 states nationwide -- including 11 states that voted for him in November.

The list of states that went Trump's way but where his approval is now underwater includes some battlegrounds where Trump barely won -- Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, Michigan and Florida -- and other swing states like Ohio, Iowa, and North Carolina. The list also includes the light-red states of Georgia and Arizona, where Democrats were optimistic in 2016. The two surprises on the list: Indiana and Texas.

North Carolina takes the prize for the worst net job approval rating in a state Trump won: 42% approve and 53% disapprove. Here's how the rest of the states break down:

.................Trump's approval rating over the last three months from Gallup -- at 39% -- set a new record low in second quarter approval ratings for new presidents back to 1945..................................

especially in local and state elections and midterms--not to mention the very effective GOP suppression of Dem voters, especially minorities.

It's very possible to win a state even if you're underwater in approval... if your opponent is underwater as well, yet one of you has to win.

whether his numbers will start to be a drag on theirs - and the congressional members' favorability numbers were already in the toilet with the senate not that far ahead of them. These polls reflect disgust with not only his ridiculousness and obscene gyrations, but his policies, which are a clear representation of rethuglican ideology in general. It's not impossible to believe that a great deal to do with this trend is the general angst almost everyone (who isn't named Koch) over their healthcare options and the looming prospect of a crisis in the healthcare insurance markets fueling skyrocketing premiums that will resort in many more millions having to forego insurance altogether and just "take their chances" that they'll be healthy forever and the many millions who will have to start making their final plans.

Sure, the state is gerrymandered to the teeth, but it has some major population centers that are blue or turning more that way every day.

I know this is anecdotal, but I have a lot of Republican friends and family in TX, and none of them like him, either. I think that if you love Donald Trump, there is something seriously lacking in your character. He represents absolutely none, ZERO, of the Christian values I learned at vacation Bible school as a kid. There are a lot of other people in the Bible Belt who feel the same way.

If you can't hire desperate workers who you can control with fear of exposing, then you have to pay higher wages to those who do not fear you. This is especially true in construction here in Texas. I have family who are hardcore rethugs who habitually hire undocumented workers because "they work harder for less money," even if these workers have little to no experience with what they were hired to do. It's all about money, all else is just frosting on the shit cake.

It's also one of the states that would be hit the hardest by an ACA repeal.

A second election is weighed on results. So far he has insulted our military, our law enforcement and declared a state religion. And the whole going to jail for treason thing.

Not likely to get re-elected. V
