Conway's advice to White House staff: Don't treat Trump like a peer

Source: MSN/The Hill

White House senior aide Kellyanne Conway offered advice to her colleagues on Friday following a major staff shakeup: Don't treat President Trump like a peer.

During an appearance on Fox News, Conway recalled a meeting with Trump in August when she was tapped as his campaign manager and told him she'd "never" address him by his first name and said "I don't consider myself your peer."

"The reason I said that is because I do think that it is important to set up that level of deference and humility when you've got someone who's your boss, now the president of the United States, now the chief of staff, a general, a secretary, who is clearly your senior, your superior," she said.

"I think it's very important that people not treat elected officials like the president and the vice president as their peers," she continued, adding that the comment was not about anyone in particular.

He holds no title by design. At the end of his term he will get a promotion to citizen with a decent pension. In Trump's case he needs a promotion to prison with a number.

(Ignoring the obvious pun)

"Peer" is not a title. The President, despite his job and the responsibility he holds, is an American citizen. Elected politicians are employees of the people and (aside from a few legal technicalities) holds no specific elevated status than anyone else as might be true in a monarchy. Nobody is required to bow to him nor should be considered offensive for using his name.

From vocab.com:

A peer is someone at your own level. If you are a 10th grader, other high school students are your peers.
Peer comes from the Latin par which means equal. When you are on par with someone, you are their peer. If kids your age are pressuring you to do something you don't want to do, that's peer pressure. In the sport of basketball, Michael Jordan was without peer, no one could equal his talent. When he switched to baseball, he found himself to be among peers again.

Should she not rather send a memo around and about the halls of what is now a greasy shithole of a WH to all the staffers and generals and such, telling them not to treat him like a peer?

And really, shouldn't they all just treat him like a dick? I mean - really.

in any way that is meaningful to me. He occupies his office by fluke and by fraud. He is Kelly Complicit's boss and she knows he is stupid and corrupt but manipulates him with flattery and phony deference. Maybe that is what she is suggesting that others do as well, but it is dishonest and demeaning to all concerned. Elected officials who exploit their positions for their own benefit while damaging the public don't deserve respect or deference.

has overstepped the bounds of acceptable paternal behaviour. Make something up about how you're sure such a strong, powerful president shouldn't be using his precious time groping a simple shoe saleswoman that he just happens to have put in a powerful position in the White House. And then apologise for distracting him. Maybe hint you can't help the genes you inherited or something."

The timing came after he told the press that he and Trump were long time butt buddies, confederates, NYC gangsters, and more.

I hadn't realized that Kellyskank Spinway was such a doormat.

It had seemed she was a quite independent woman. Now it appears she quakes in the sight of Lord Trump and would drop to her knees to fellate him daily if she weren't already married.

Moochie DOES treat Donald like a peer--he's probably got more "real" cash (as opposed to laundered money from spurious sources) than Donald, he's unloading (or to be accurate, getting DUMPED by) his wife, and hey, he loves-loves-LOVES the Donald. Two peas in a pod. Egomaniac and suck-up. What a pair!

It could be a small slam at "Jared" too--but that's a hopeless cause, since Trump's the Father-In-Law.

Ugh. Nepotism. It's incestuous in more ways than one in the Trump WH.
