Zambian miners kill Chinese supervisor and injure another in pay dispute
Source: Guardian
Zambian miners killed a Chinese supervisor and seriously wounded another on Saturday in a pay dispute at the Collum coal mine, labour minister Fackson Shamenda said on Sunday.
Chinese companies have invested more than $1bn in Zambia's copper industry, but animosity towards them is growing as Zambian workers accuse firms of abuses and underpaying.
Workers at Collum, 325km (200 miles) south of the capital, Lusaka, attacked Chinese bosses, demanding wage rises in line with those stipulated by the government last month.

(2,035 posts)and then demand the foreigners sacrifice everything they are to "honor" and "respect" Chinese culture and traditions. So when Chinese businessmen, industrialists, princelings and students leave for another country, they pull the same crap and then speak badly about the other country and their people when they come home failures with their tail between their legs because they expect others in other countries to "honor" and "respect" Chinese culture and traditions. Something about having cake and eating it to is very common in this place.
My Chinese wife finally sees that and has asked me to find her a job in a foreign country because, as she puts it, "China would be great if it weren't for all the people."
Before you flame me. . .I've lived here for five years. Trust me, what foreigners know about this place would fill one page of a 1,000 page book.
