Former Trump aide liquidated childrens college fund to pay for Russia defense: report

Source: The Hill

A former campaign adviser to President Trump said the ongoing federal probe into alleged ties between the Trump campaign and Russia has taken such a financial toll on him that he's had to liquidate his children's college fund to pay for legal counsel.

"It's very expensive and nobody's called me and offered to help," Michael Caputo, who worked in the Trump campaign’s communications department, told The Washington Examiner.

"The problem is, it's very specialized representation, so it takes a certain type of attorney, and they're quite competent. And you'll pay for competency," he continued. Caputo said he has hired a New York-based attorney.

The former campaign adviser said the probe was politically motivated, and aimed at "destroying" the president's allies.

This may deter many a potential republiscums from joining Trump's failing presidency.

More so, the more qualified the job seeker, the less likely they will join this band of brigands, therefore allowing worse and likely totally unqualified folks to fill those positions.

A self-defeating, downward spiraling administration if I ever saw one!

Lie down with a crazy-ass incompetent boob criminal conman Russian puppet candidate, get up with fleas and debt.

Anyone who voluntarily went towards dump--when any decent person was repelled--and enlisted in the campaign deserves all the tears that follow. Not to mention demonizing and denying the legitimate candidate in order to install the boob in the White House.

Oh, and the pukes are the party of "personal responsibility". Yet don't give a rat's ass about honest Americans who find themselves in medical debt. So don't expect sympathy from decent people.

Mueller has hired the best team of attorneys out there. Going into a deposition with some 2nd rate or clock punching lawyer is asking for trouble.

Just ask President Clinton how off the rails these things can go. He was disbarred and impeached for something totally and completely unrelated to the special prosecutors appointment.

It's a lesson I'm sure everyone in Washington has learned.

If your would be employer just paid out 25,000,000 buckaroos in a fraud settlement and is being sued by myriad people and businesses for non-payment etc.,you might just want to look a little more carefully at his ethical practices before signing up. It doesn't take a master's degree just a sense of personal integrity. We are indeed known by the company we keep!

Repubes rejoiced when Dem staffers spent 1993-2000 trying to do their jobs and fight the legal battles created from thin air by Ken Starr, Newt and every other R. The Clintons left the White House in serious debt due to their legal costs, as well. Then, Repukes pitched a walleyed fit when they made money writing books and giving speeches.

You get a call from the special prosecutor, you go see a lawyer, and an experienced one who deals with special prosecutors will be expensive.

They'll tell you that most indictments from special prosecutors have nothing to do with the original item being investigated, but instead are for things like obstructing justice or lying to the FBI.

Therefore, you have to go over each piece of paper and get your story straight because if you tell two different stories in two different interviews, you'll be open to indictment.

Low level staffers are particularly vulnerable as they don't make that much money and often don't have much saved up to begin with at their age.

Perhaps Mr. Caputo should have chosen a better employer.

Afterall, if you have nothing to hide, why do you need a lawyer?

Isn't that what the Fascist Party says to minorities who are arrested?
