DOJ Won’t Investigate Killing Of Black Man By White Policeman In St. Louis

ST. LOUIS (AP) The U.S. Department of Justice says it will not open a new civil rights investigation into the fatal shooting of a black suspect by a white former St. Louis policeman, one day after the officer was acquitted in the case.

The head of the NAACP St. Louis on Friday called for President Donald Trump and the Justice Department to investigate Jason Stockley. A judge ruled Friday that Stockley was innocent in the 2011 shooting death of 24-year-old Anthony Lamar Smith. The acquittal set off raucous protests that continued into Saturday.

Justice Department spokeswoman Lauren Ehrsam says the department previously looked at the case in 2012 and decided not to prosecute, and again in 2016 after charges were filed in St. Louis. Ehrsam says the Civil Rights Division concluded the evidence did not support prosecution under criminal civil rights statutes.

2:45 p.m.

Protesters angry over the acquittal of a white former St. Louis police officer in the killing of a black man briefly marched through two malls in an affluent area of St. Louis County.

back before the hack, back before I lost my screen name, back when the AA group wasn't stripped of its more vocal members of all political leanings . . .

You have read the replies you received correctly.

There is an apparently accepted school of thought that the fact that federal civil rights charges were not filed by the Obama Justice Department in the Martin, Brown, Rice, Castille, Sterling, Dubose, Gray, Garner, McDonald, COLD BLOODED MURDERS and the MURDERS of far too many other young black men and women by cops stands for the dual proposition that (a) these black Americans were not murdered; and, (b) the fact that that scum Sessions continues to not file such charges is somehow "justified."

Nothing could be further from the truth. What it actually shows is that these murders are the product of systemic and not just individualized racism.

The murder of Michael Brown, of which I have a fair amount of personal knowledge, is the perfect example. When all the transcripts of witness interviews are read, two things become apparent. The first is that there were three distinct groups of witnesses: those who claimed to have personally witnessed what can be described as nothing other than murder, those who claimed to have seen parts of what may or may have not been a murder but believed that it was a murder, and those who claimed to have seen what may or may not have been a murder but believed it that Brown was the aggressor. The second is that the SYSTEM made sure that not only would the third group be the only ones heard, but the first group's credibility would be destroyed so that NO ONE, not even Eric Holder, could make a case.

The difference between Holder and Sessions is that systemic racism chained Holder when he tried to seek the truth, but frees Sessions when he tries to spread lies.

Stay strong.

Speak the truth.
