George Zimmerman, the man who shot 17-year-old Trayvon Martin, has been awarded his second request to extend his case.
His motion to continue was granted Tuesday morning, according to documents released by the Florida State Attorney's Office.
Zimmerman is now scheduled to appear in court at 8:30 a.m. on Oct. 3.
The former neighborhood watchman claims he shot and killed the teenager in self defense. He's charged with second-degree murder.

(1,142 posts)I'm willing to bet that he just wants more time to raise money and then spend it on anything other than his case, so far, he's paid all his debts, paid off some bills years in advance and done lots of other things that have nothing to do with legal expenses, but hey, who's to tell him how to spend all the hard earned money

The article doesn't state why Zimmerman or his attorney need this extra time nor the length of this 2nd time extension. My guess is that extra time favors the defense as the passage of time dulls peoples senses. At some point the prosecution needs to say enough is enough. Martin's parents need closure on this matter.
