Scalise: 'The problem is not that there are too many guns'

Source: The Hill

BY REBECCA SAVRANSKY - 10/08/17 09:00 AM EDT

House Majority Whip Steve Scalise (R-La.) stressed in an interview on Sunday that existing gun laws should be enforced, rejecting the argument that there are too many guns in Americans' hands.

"The problem is not that there are too many guns," Scalise, who was shot over the summer at a GOP baseball practice, said on NBC's "Meet The Press."

"It's that there are people that will go out and break the law, whether it's a gun or some other weapon or a bomb."

Scalise added there's "no excuse" for breaking the law. "There's no excuse for using any kind of weapon to try to take the life of an innocent person," he said.

Scalise on taxes: ‘All the rates are going to go down’

BY REBECCA SAVRANSKY - 10/08/17 09:00 AM EDT

House Majority Whip Steve Scalise (R-La.) said in an interview Sunday that no one will have their taxes raised under the GOP's plan.

"Not under our plan," Scalise told NBC's "Meet The Press."

"You're going to see all the rates go down."

Scalise was pressed on whether the wealthy would also see their rates go down. "All the rates are going to go down," he said.

"The death tax will be completely repealed, by the way, probably one of the most immoral taxes on the books."

contributed to this ass? Since he has GREAT medical coverage, he does not have to worry about medical bills. He can take time off "work" all he wants to, no fear of losing his employment- such as it is. Here is a suggestion to lower costs, take away these deadbeats retirement plans. Let them get 401K's like other people. They certainly do not earn these retirement $$$. Lyin' Ryan spends more time thinking up cutesy nicknames for his groups than he does actually working for his constituents.

He needs to make sure the NRA keeps supporting him. Getting shot doesn't mean you get to change your mind about guns.

Don't forget "The only thing that can stop a bad guy with a gun is a good guy with a gun."
And this gem: "Guns don't kill people, people kill people."

Really fail to see the connection here...wtf, where
is it going with this? It's not too many guns, then
what? People are gonna always arm themselves
when they break the law? I've got nothing.

Republican John Thune blames shooting victims for failing to ‘take precautions’ and ‘get small’ to avoid gunfire

https://www.google.com/search?source=hp&q=john+thune+get+small&oq=john+thune+get+small&gs_l=psy-ab.3...3097.9271.0.12241.22.21.1.0.0.0.342.3363.0j8j6j2.16.0....0...1.1.64.psy-ab..5.12.2109...0j0i131k1j0i10k1j0i13k1j0i22i30k1.0.irTeBlqb0Xk

Well, that certainly puts the blame on Steve Scalise for getting shot and not avoiding it.

Advice to people to avoid mass-shootings from Sen. Thune (R-NRA) "Get small."

20 children died in Newtown. Were they not small enough?

Give a struggling working class tax payer a few hundred, give a Wall Street fat cat a few million, and everyone can be happy happy and no one pays any price. Cut trillions from government income and our deficits will vanish. No vital services will be compromised, the free market will shower grace upon us all.
