Thats actually not true: Chris Wallace tears NRA executive director a new one for lying about gun control
08 Oct 2017 at 11:15 ET
Fox News host Chris Wallace on Sunday took on NRA Executive Director Chris Cox about his organizations resistance to gun safety laws following the recent mass shooting in Las Vegas.
You say common decency [means] lets wait [on discussing gun laws], whats enough time? Wallace wondered. I mean, here were 58 people killed, almost 500 injured. Is it common decency to wait a day, two days, a week, a month. I mean, it is understandable I know you dont agree with [Democrats] solution but whats wrong with saying we need to address this?
Cox, however, turned the question into an opportunity to attack House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) and Hillary Clinton, who he accused of wanting to abolish all gun rights.
Is that a sensible way to have this conversation, to try to turn it into class warfare, Wallace shot back, where if youre for gun control somehow youre part of an elite?

Chris Cox has all the Foxnews, RW talking points down pat. Good for Wallace for bringing some truth to the show.

(9,696 posts)They say "now is not the time to talk about guns" and everyone falls for that line, repeating it incredulously and asking "when is the right time?" Instead they should be asking "who are you to decide what we can talk about and when?"
It's like how climate change got turned into "is it man made or not?" instead of "who cares who caused it, let's take steps to solve it."

(7,016 posts)working the late shift in "Chicago" who wants to protect herself is not what we are talking about. Is she carrying a weapon with a 100 magazine capacity? Is she carrying a full or semi-automatic in her purse ? Does she have said weapons in her home for protection ? These types of weapons are for killing mass amounts of people . Except for the few who go into their backyard and blow off a thousand rounds for fun. I say in that case they can CERTAINLY go to a range rent a automatic weapon and go at it. Then leave it there and go home .
