Chris Murphy: Trump's threat of war with North Korea must be taken 'seriously'

Sen. Chris Murphy (D-Conn.) on Monday said President Trump's rhetoric directed at North Korea must be taken "seriously," following remarks made by Sen. Bob Corker (R-Tenn.) about Trump possibly leading the U.S. on the path toward "World War III."

"It's time to take Trump seriously as he keeps hinting, over and over, that he wants to go to war with North Korea," Murphy said in a series of tweets, adding that some of the president's other tweets have proven to not always be "just bluster."

Murphy, a member of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, said "many" lawmakers have begun to hear "whispers of more serious war talk in and near the White House."

Murphy said Corker may have seriously meant his World War III remark, which he made to The New York Times after getting into a heated exchange with Trump on Twitter.

2. Yeah, he knows he is going down visavi Mueller and Schneiderman so war is certain, question is will

the military go along or not.

Nothing in trump past or behavour to say he wont risk the lives of billions to save himself.

i.e. if a war that kills 3 billion also keeps him out of prison, he kills the 3 billion, count on it

3. Murphy was on CNN for a long talk today

and he was very serious that the GOP knows this and needs to show some courage (an understatement in my opinion).

4. CNN openly calls him an idiot

Sadly, when it counted, CNN failed. They loved Trump, the ratings were great. They never thought he would win. But now, they openly call him an idiot in round tables over and over. Better late than never.
