Wonder if it is just a glitch in their system network or something bigger? I don't use FB personally, just to market our business. Guess I won't be doing that today and I'm kind of relieved! Mama might get to go home early!

(23,302 posts)but by and large, folks don't. I find it nutzo that folks get so upset! It slows things down for me at work and I'm loving it!

(18,402 posts)I'm on my desktop, though, so I'm using the website. I have a Facebook app on my iPad that I can check (though I rarely use it). Are you using the app or the website? Maybe that's the differenced.

(23,302 posts)but it is global. http://downdetector.com/status/facebook/map/ I've had two employees rush in my office to tell me they can't get on FB! Then they realize they are telling the person who writes their paychecks and they turn red. Ah, youth.

Yesterday was Patch Tuesday for MSFT services, and there were serious issues with Xbox Live, and even non-MSFT PLEX went down for a while last night.
It's that time of the month, and patching production always exposes problems. Some bigger than others.

(835 posts)with friends. It was weird they could see my post and reply but I couldn't I was getting the notifications but a broken link to the actual post. Maybe the Russians are retaliating for Facebook turning over info.

(17,427 posts)Small loss.
It opened on my Android phone application, but I didn't browse, so it could have just been what was cached. I got a blank screen on the browsers that I tried.
Edit to add:
A Facebook reply I was making when it crashed is double posted and doesn't appear in my activity log.
Did I break it?

(23,302 posts)Ours just came back up too. Guess I'm staying at work! That aside...it seems strange to me, and I am not an IT professional, that FB goes down on a global scale and they have the personnel and resources to get it up and running pretty darned quickly...but they don't know that they are being used on a grand scale by Russia over a period of months to eff with Americans during our election. Makes me say hmmmmm.

(23,302 posts)twist, wouldn't it? Our digital infrastructure is so very vulnerable. Russia could probably take us down in a heart beat. I wonder if they are not the culprit in the Equifax breach?
