Trump signs health care executive order live updates

Source: CBS News

After multiple failed Republican attempts to repeal and replace the Affordable Care Act, President Trump is resorting to his pen to achieve some of his health care goals.

On Friday, Mr. Trump signed an executive order intended to make lower-premium plans more widely available. The president has long talked of his desire to make plans available across state lines, something this order will apparently do. The White House views this as an action that will "increase the healthcare choices for millions of Americans, potentially allowing some employers to join together across State lines to offer coverage," according to a background call before the order's signing.

Former President Barack Obama was criticized heavily by Republicans in 2014 when he said, I've got a pen and I've got a phone," a nod to his intention to use executive action when Congress wouldn't cooperate.

Mr. Trump hasn't backed down on his desire to repeal Obamacare and fulfill a signature campaign promise, despite the GOP-led Congress' inability to agree on how to do that. On Friday, before signing the executive order, he said he would continue to work with Congress to repeal Obamacare, "once and for all."

From the Live Updates:

11:45 a.m. Trump begins to walk out of the room without signing the order
After making his remarks, Mr. Trump began walking out of the room, until Vice President Mike Pence tapped him and reminded him to sign the order. Mr. Trump then turned to the table to sign the executive order.

Someone in 45*s family should gather the courage to admit that 45* has serious mental issues and isn't fit to occupy the White House.

Many of them seem to be lower to middle income older folks who will likely face hardships because of this. But when that day comes they will blame Obama and other democrats for it.

I really am beginning to despise anyone who voted for Trump, especially any democrat, independent, woman, Latino, Senior....When I see a Trump sticker on a car I want to run it off the road, when I hear someone say how much good he's doing, I want to smash their face, but I don't..... I really get the shits when I hear bickering in our party. I see things being done that may elevate the fucking right wingers. I hear our senators and congress people being complacent as usual..... I hate the phrase "elections have consequences", but we are now seeing what happens when the people are brainwashed into electing Mussolini.... I'm not abiding by his rules, I can't wait for his term to be over...sooner then later.

Its not a matter of fact to the right wing. Many of the cretins that voted for Fuckump have said what a great job he's doing.... even some diehards....look at the nutsack Gingrich and what he said this week. Us democrats seem to shoot ourselves in the foot when its time to act. you heard the saying bring a knife to a gun fight, well sometime the democrats bring a spoon to a gunfight, when we need a anti-aircraft gun..... Some things being said or have been said, done (in my opinion) helped to hurt our chances in 2018...starting a universal healthcare conversation for one is a mistake.....

good for all rather than "Repeal Obamacare". Their focus is to harm Obama's image rather than find a workable health care plan which is why they will always fail.
People have always been able to buy ins across state lines but what Trump's stupidity will do is make cheap plans with high deductions and little coverage available from states with little ins regulations. How much longer must we tolerate thus incompetent a-hole. This PINO is such an embarrassment.

They want to return to a total free market health care system. But they can't SAY that. That's why they haven't passed anything. They keep trying to put something in their plan that means it's not total free market, is not a total stepping away from the ACA, but well on the way to a free market...but that's almost impossible to do.

a year or more maybe. If then. It just tells some others to craft some things.

Looks like this was just P.R., and a kick in the a__ of Congress for them to pass something.
