Women Shouldn't Have the Right to Vote, Says Alt-Right Leader Richard Spencer

Source: Newsweek

White Nationalist Richard Spencer’s tiki torch rallies in Charlottesville, Virginia, and his distant dream of forming a white ethnostate steal headlines, but his views about women—that their role in politics be shrunk down to a barely visible place that would be unrecognizable to almost anyone in modern America—is seldom highlighted.

I spoke to Spencer this week, and in the context of a discussion about two documents that he admires, the American Naturalization Acts of 1790 and 1795, laws that once set out rules for the United States in limiting naturalization to only free white persons of good moral standing, I pointed out that the U.S. was a fundamentally different country at the turn of the 19th century. More specifically, I asked him if he wanted to return to a time in which women weren’t allowed to vote.

"I'm not terribly excited about voting in general," Spencer said. "I think that mass democracy is a bit of a joke to be honest."

I pressed him on the question again. “I don’t necessarily think that that’s a great thing,” Spencer said of women voting in U.S. elections.

Hey, maybe the Women’s March in Detroit can also select him as a speaker. Handmaiden tale here we come.

I wrote the vast majority of it off as trolls just trying to rile people up. I'm curious what would happen if this stance becomes something that a large portion of the Trump fans came to vocally support. Would the women in that group would go along with it? I would like to say they wouldn't, but given some of the crazy stuff I've seen Trump's base support, I'm thinking would still go for it.

That's why Facebook took the money and allowed all of the Russian propaganda to be posted. It's why the media engages in sensationalism while ignoring matters of import. More than 90% of all media in this country is owned by six corporations. The fourth estate abandoned their obligations to an honorable press in a long time ago.

People that claim they love a country they want to change it ways that will make it completely unrecognizable from anything that makes America, America

“If we took away women's right to vote, we'd never have to worry about another Democrat president. It's kind of a pipe dream, it's a personal fantasy of mine, but I don't think it's going to happen. And it is a good way of making the point that women are voting so stupidly, at least single women.”--Ann Coulter

want "their kind" to have the right to vote, which also includes banning most women. Elections have consequences and we see it every day what happens when those smart enough to know better sit out elections or too lazy to vote and be involved.

We have only ourselves to blame for all of this

this guy has had fewer girl friends than Pope Francis (or maybe he's a closeted homosexual). His lack of prowess with the opposite sex (if I'm right) probably explains a lot of his issues. Kind of feel bad making this accusation.

After last year's election, I'm not terribly excited about voting in general, given what we ended up with in the White House. Maybe we could try 100 years or so without white men voting!
