President Trump again described Democrats as obstructionists, saying the party only wants “to increase taxes.”

“Art Laffer just said that he doesn't know how a Democrat could vote against the big tax cut/reform bill and live with themselves! @FoxNews” Trump wrote on Twitter, referring to the economist.

The remark from the president comes as Trump and Congressional Republicans push a new tax framework that cuts the number of individual tax rates and business taxes.

While the plan has received praise from conservative groups and Republican lawmakers, Democrats have criticized the overhaul as a tax cut for the wealthy.

Laffer of course popularized the notion that lower tax rates somehow increase tax revenue through imaginary pipe dreams. 96% of economists disagree with this. If anyone wants to know how dangerous this guy is, he has been the economic advisor to Sam Brownback who has completely destroyed the great state of Kansas.

Oh yeah,now I remember. Him and our idiot Gov Brownback engineered the trickle down,ZERO percent tax rate for Corporations that took effect in Jan 2013. Four years later we're $900 MILLION in the hole in Kansas. That bullshit Corporate welfare never added a job anywhere NOR did hundreds of Corporations come flooding into Kansas wanting their "nothing" tax rate. What it did do is rape and pillage any and all programs,school funding,KDOT road projects etc,etc,etc. And...all of us working slobs were treated to TWO sales tax increases after it took effect to bring in CASH.

It's now been overturned,Brokeback is going to be Trumps Jesus representative all over the World and will be out of here soon enough. So if Trump wants to pimp Laffer's name and act like he's a economic genius then look no further than what happened in Kansas.

10. OK I must be a little older

...because I specifically remember David Stockman who was Reagan's economic advisor. He was talking out both sides of his mouth about trickle down economics. (A lot of people bought this theory at the time.) Behind our backs Stockman and the GOP were laughing about the trickle-down joke and how they pulled it off.

Seriously our economy has never recovered from the huge tax cuts of the 1980's that created the super-wealthy class of one-percenters. It was the beginning of the end of the American Middle Class. We're now seeing the end of the end.
