Disrespectful lie: Anger grows over Trumps claims about past presidents and fallen troops

Source: MSN/Washington Post

Anger sparked by President Trump’s false claims on Monday that former president Barack Obama and other past presidents did not reach out to families of fallen American troops swelled into the night.

Near midnight Monday, Former U.S. attorney general Eric H. Holder Jr., who in 2009 accompanied Obama to Dover Air Force Base in Delaware to witness the return of 18 Americans killed in Afghanistan, tweeted for Trump to “stop the damn lying.” He added, “I went to Dover AFB with 44 and saw him comfort the families of both the fallen military & DEA.”

Retired Army Gen. Martin Dempsey, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff from 2011 to 2015, said in a tweet that Obama and President George W. Bush “and first ladies cared deeply, worked tirelessly for the serving, the fallen, and their families,” adding, “Not politics. Sacred Trust.”

* * *
Ben Rhodes, who served as Obama’s deputy national security adviser, called the statement “an outrageous and disrespectful lie even by Trump standards.”

#StopTheDamnLying (R)

Comrade Casino, the republican Draft-Dodger-in-Chief has no respect for our US Armed Forces, or our American POWs, never mind former US Presidents. He needs to just STFU with his republican lies.

And yet the lying has become so commonplace that it doesn't get called out, as it should, on the front page of every newspaper and in stories on TV and radio news.

.... KBR (think Dick Cheney/Halliburton) had "burn pits" and we have
pretty good evidence that toxins from those fires caused the cases of
brain cancer.

A neighbor's son was one of those cases.

The insults to president Obama are outrageous and need to be called out by Democratic politicians and others such as this General. It is sickening that Obama is still being dragged through the mud to prop up an insane poser. Democrats in the House and Senate need to speak up.
President Obama needs to be defended from these attacks and in this case Bush too.

This man has NO standards. NONE. As for lies, I only have 1 question. Has he told the truth about ANYTHING since in office?

It sure looks like this country made a huge mistake. And "huge" is an understatement.

Someone told him that, as if that excuses his blatant lies. The follow up to that should be, “Who told you?” Then watch him start stammering, trying to come up with a name or another lie. No one EVER asks him the logical questions so at least it could be verified or refuted that someone else told him the incorrect information. Which, if truth be told, is just his standard reply when caught in a lie. Why is he allowed to get away with this? If we tried this lame excuse when we were children, it never would have flown. So why is a grown ass man allowed this pathetic excuse??

And that goes for his mouthpieces too. If Trump says that someone told him that, they ,Sarah and Kellyanne, should be asked who was it.
