Obama camp picks at possible Romney VP choices (so proactive and so BRILLIANT)

~~~WARNING there are some Olympics *SPOILERS* on that page ~~~
CINCINNATI President Barack Obama and his Democratic allies arent waiting for Republican Mitt Romney to reveal his vice presidential choice. Theyre already trying to scuff up those considered by political insiders to be most likely to join the GOP ticket.
Tim Pawlenty? The former Minnesota governor is a fee-raiser whose record is painful for the middle-class families who lived under his leadership, the Obama campaign argues.
Rob Portman? The Ohio senator is one of the architects of the top-down Bush budget that the Obama team blames for crashing our economy.
Marco Rubio? The rookie Florida senator has led the way on almost every extreme position Mitt Romney has embraced, according to the missive that seeks examples of the good, the bad and ugly of Rubio.
Chris Christie? Theres no lack of material to work with about the pugnacious New Jersey governor.
Bobby Jindal? The Louisiana governor and former congressman tried to harm Social Security and Medicare and had the same issues with secrecy and lack of transparency as Mitt Romney.
The Obama campaign is just a juggernaut. They already have taken air out of the VP announcement both in the national media and having "water cooler" talking points.
This is so impressive.
(43,027 posts)The Obama campaign is an impressive machine. Who makes the decisions?
Why do I have the feeling that Obama himself is deeply into strategy.
Let's not forget how he destroyed Hillary Clinton in 2008 by being front and center,
on the offensive, a day ahead of, an issue in front of, baiting and badgering. And
that was the primary. That's why I think he himself is front and center on strategy.
Then he turned his fire on McCain. When he senses weakness, he goes for the
jugular. It's like a finely tuned game of basketball.
Fingers crossed, pray each day, work your butt off, call your local county
Democratic Headquarters, this guy deserves all the support we can give.
Strength at the TOP of the ticket. Not that Bill Clinton wasn't good or great, or that
Gore or Kerry weren't fired up, but THIS guy just might be able to help some party
faithful down the ticket.
This time he is full throttle.
(43,027 posts)Daniels is a good bet, and is my guess. Ryan is quite possible also,
considering the GOP wants a budget referendum.
Newt? Nah. Santorum? Good God, no.
Any back benchers on anyone's mind?
He can't pick a woman. They would be known as
Mitts and Tits.
He'll pick a midwesterner, to spread his possible Electoral College grab
as wide as possible. Someone truly Fundamentalist Christian, to fire up
that crowd.
Gotta be Paul Ryan or Mitch Daniels. Aah, what do I know. Not much.
