CIA corrects director's Russian election meddling claim

Source: CNN

Washington (CNN)CIA Director Mike Pompeo said Thursday that the US intelligence community determined that Russian meddling in the 2016 presidential election did not affect its outcome -- a statement that was quickly clarified by his own agency.

The "intelligence community's assessment is that the Russian meddling that took place did not affect the outcome of the election," Pompeo said, speaking at an event hosted by Foundation for Defense of Democracies. The CIA issued a clarifying statement after Pompeo's remarks.

"The intelligence assessment with regard to Russian election meddling has not changed, and the director did not intend to suggest that it had," agency spokesman Dean Boyd said.

The public report by the Director of National Intelligence released in January stated that the intelligence community did "not make an assessment of the impact that Russian activities had on the outcome of the 2016 election."

There is literally no one in the upper levels of the trump cabal that can be trusted to tell the truth. Always we get clarifications of what they said which usually amount to saying in polite terms that they f'ng lied to us. I am so tired of this and the most of the main steam media is really of no help as true investigative reporting is evidently dead for fear of lack of access.

How the fuck are they going to say that he didn't intend to suggest that it had changed when he made the statement that he did. That is exactly what he meant. Just stop the fucking lying already. Just come out and say he was incorrect.

11. There's no way to definitively PROVE "the outcome" of an election was false

in the US because in this country all elections are counted on electronic voting machines which either have no paper to use to do so or nobody ever uses what paper there is to "verify" the election. So almost all elections in the US are either unverifiable or unverified.

To make the statement that "that Russian meddling in the 2016 presidential election did not affect its outcome" is completely meaningless. We know that the Russians meddled and were able to penetrate some of the voting machines and other computers used to keep files of voters, etc. It's impossible to know if the meddling altered the result for the simple reason that in 95-100% of the cases it's impossible to know if the vote was altered IN ANY ELECTION IN THE US.

otherwise is at best wishful thinking, and at worst a outright lie, meant to cover up and perpetuate the election rigging.

that the elections are invalid. If the will of the people was being respected, the machines would be immediately banned. Ipso facto, the machines are perpetuating their own existence.

they have been hacked. and of course there are are plenty of people who just love these machines - the ones who don't want an accurate vote count.
