John McCain mocks Donald Trumps deferment bone spurs

Source: USA TODAY

On C-SPAN McCain says, “One aspect of the (Vietnam) conflict by the way that I will never ever countenance is that we drafted the lowest income level of America and the highest income level found a doctor that would say that they had a bone spur. That is wrong. That is wrong. If we are going to ask every American to serve, every American should serve.”

The president, as you may know, received several draft deferments during the war, most having to do with college. After he graduated in 1968, however, Trump would have been drafted, but got a medical deferment for what was diagnosed as bone spurs in his heels.

He doesn’t exactly call the president a draft dodger. But … in a way… he does.

On C-SPAN3, American History TV, McCain is interviewed about the Vietnam War. The money shot, the prime quote, comes after McCain discusses the mistakes made in getting into the war and the lack of a strategy for victory. Then he gets to the draft. And Trump.

about the draft. I think if everyone had to serve, our leaders would be a lot more careful about sending young men and women off to war, and our populace would be a lot more interested in jaw jaw jaw vs. war war war. It isn't fair that only those who had money and/or connections were not obliged to serve.

Extra points for recognizing the quote.

Moore confronts senators and/or congress members on the street and asks them if and when their own sons and daughters will be enlisting. To which they immediately try and scamper away as fast as they can.

Sarge, I'm only eighteen, I got a ruptured spleen
And I always carry a purse
I got eyes like a bat, and my feet are flat, and my asthma's getting worse
Yes, think of my career, my sweetheart dear, and my poor old invalid aunt
Besides, I ain't no fool, I'm a-goin' to school
And I'm working in a DEE-fense plant

I've got a dislocated disc and a wracked up back
I'm allergic to flowers and bugs
And when the bombshell hits, I get epileptic fits
And I'm addicted to a thousand drugs
I got the weakness woes, I can't touch my toes
I can hardly reach my knees
And if the enemy came close to me
I'd probably start to sneeze

Ooh, I hate Chou En Lai, and I hope he dies,
But one thing you gotta see
Is that someone's gotta go over there
And that someone isn't me
So I wish you well, Sarge, give 'em Hell!
Kill me a thousand or so
And if you ever get a war without blood and gore
I'll be the first to go

to start voting against EVERY single thing he brings up. No more nominations, no more of your "good friends" in the Senate that are doing the Slugs wishes and question every single EO he pushes through. Now you Senator you must stop him from his march towards war and the push for taking away Americans rights and the fleecing of the government when he goes golfing every weekend.

Stop this ridiculous, insane 'tax 'reform'.

If you are leaving the Senate make it count, make this Traitor pay for his unAmerican stance.
